The People's Committee of Lao Cai province has requested the Vietnam Telecommunications Group to implement the technical infrastructure conditions for the merger of the two electronic information portals of Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces, in accordance with the operational schedule of the two-tiered local government and 99 component electronic information portals at the commune level, starting from July 1, 2025.

The People's Committee of Lao Cai province has requested the Vietnam Telecommunications Group to implement the technical infrastructure conditions for the merger of the two electronic information portals of Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces, in accordance with the operational schedule of the two-tiered local government and 99 component electronic information portals at the commune level, starting from July 1, 2025.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province has recently issued a document requesting the Vietnam Telecommunications Group to implement the merger of the Lao Cai Provincial Electronic Information Portal and the Yen Bai Provincial Electronic Information Portal.

Accordingly, all data and resources from the Yen Bai Provincial E-Portal will be transferred to the Lao Cai Provincial E-Portal after the merger; the Lao Cai Provincial E-Portal will remain unchanged, and all data and resources from the Yen Bai Provincial E-Portal will be transferred to the Lao Cai Provincial E-Portal after the merger.

After the merger, the new Lao Cai Provincial E-Government Portal System will have: Provincial brand recognition with the name remaining unchanged (Lao Cai province), and the existing laocai.gov.vn domain name in accordance with legal regulations.

The provincial e-portal was created by merging three agencies (the Provincial Party Committee, the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee) into one main portal: the Lao Cai Provincial E-portal, and more than 150 component e-portals, including:

The online information portals of the Party-affiliated agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and the provincial political and social organizations, as well as specialized agencies.

15 component online information portals of the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council; the Office of the Provincial People's Committee; and the departments, boards, and agencies under the province.

The online information portals include those of central government agencies and other units and organizations located within the province.

The People's Committee of Lao Cai province also requested the Vietnam Telecommunications Group to implement the technical infrastructure conditions for the establishment of 99 commune-level e-information portals according to the schedule for the operation of the two-tiered local government system from July 1, 2025.
