The "Countryside Cuisine" Festival in Binh Thanh Village

(Baoquangngai.vn) - Binh Thanh Community Agricultural, Service and Tourism Cooperative organized the "Rural Cuisine Festival" in Binh Thanh village, Hanh Nhan commune (Nghia Hanh district).

The "Countryside Cuisine" festival, held on the evening of April 30th, attracted hundreds of visitors from various localities within the province.

The "Countryside Cuisine" festival in Binh Thanh village attracts many tourists who come to visit and enjoy traditional dishes.

The traditional, rustic dishes served to tourists are prepared by the locals themselves in Binh Thanh community tourism village, such as: banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake), jackfruit salad, pomelo salad, corn fritters, grilled snakehead fish, banh chung (Vietnamese sticky rice cake), banh tet (Vietnamese cylindrical sticky rice cake), banh it (Vietnamese glutinous rice cake), banh bot loc (Vietnamese tapioca cake), banh su se (Vietnamese sweet soup), various grilled dishes, sweet soups, etc. In addition, tourists can also enjoy a variety of local specialty fruits such as pomelo, dwarf banana, Cavendish banana, royal banana, star apple, etc., along with unique cultural performances and traditional folk theater.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Hai, residing in Truong Quang Trong ward ( Quang Ngai City), said that when she heard about the "Rural Cuisine" program in Binh Thanh, her family and she were very eager to visit. "I really like the community tourism products in Binh Thanh. It's so enjoyable to savor delicious traditional dishes like jackfruit salad, banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake), banh beo (steamed rice cake), banh bot loc (tapioca dumpling), banh su se (sweet potato cake)... amidst the peaceful countryside; and the children get to play various activities in the countryside, giving them a childhood full of memories," Ms. Hai shared.

The program attracted many families to visit and enjoy the food .

The "Rural Cuisine Festival" is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025) and International Labor Day (May 1). Through this, it promotes local community tourism products, attracts visitors for sightseeing and experiences, and contributes to improving the income of local people.

According to Doan Phu Viet Nam, Director of the Binh Thanh Community Agricultural, Service and Tourism Cooperative, the "Rural Cuisine Festival" involved nearly 50 households in Binh Thanh. The program was held over two nights, from April 30th to May 1st, from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM, in the Ba Danh rice field area, Binh Thanh village, Hanh Nhan commune. The first day attracted over 10,000 visitors.
