In the flow of Vietnamese culture, the Binh Da Festival plays an important role in preserving and promoting traditional values and unique folk rituals. This year, the festival is organized with the theme "The Spirit of Lac Hong - Convergence and Dissemination," including many typical activities such as processions, rituals and incense offerings; the release of sacred cakes; traditional fireworks displays; flag-raising ceremonies combined with hot air balloons, along with attractive cultural, sports and folk games programs.

In a sacred and solemn atmosphere, reflecting the nation's origins, leaders, delegates, and a large number of people and visitors from all over participated in the incense offering ceremony to commemorate the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan. This traditional ritual expresses the principle of remembering one's roots and showing profound gratitude for the merits of the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan, and officially inaugurates the Binh Da Spring Festival in the year of the Horse (2026).
In his opening remarks at the festival, Comrade Nguyen Dang Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Minh Commune, and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, stated that the legend of Lac Long Quan and Au Co is a sacred symbol of the nation's origins, affirming the identity and enduring vitality of the Lac Hong lineage. Through many historical ups and downs, the Binh Da festival has been preserved and passed down through generations, becoming a typical intangible cultural heritage of Hanoi.

He emphasized that the festival is not only an opportunity to connect with our roots, but also contributes to inspiring aspirations for development, promoting the cultural and historical values of the locality, linking heritage preservation with tourism development, and building a more civilized, prosperous, and beautiful homeland.

As one of the region's oldest major festivals, the Binh Da Festival is deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture, aiming to recall the early days of nation-building and commemorate the contributions of National Ancestor Lac Long Quan - who played a key role in opening rivers, reclaiming land from the sea, expanding the territory, and establishing the nation.
Traditionally, during the festival, the delegation from the Management Board of Hung Temple (Phu Tho province) always comes to offer incense to the National Ancestor and request to take the incense sticks from the First altar of the Inner Temple to worship, signifying a respectful welcome to the National Ancestor to attend the Hung Temple festival on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month with his descendants.

With its unique historical, cultural, and religious values, the Binh Da Festival was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage on April 1, 2014. In particular, the bas-relief dedicated to the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan at the Noi Temple was recognized as a National Treasure in 2015.
According to the organizers, the "Week of Vietnamese Cultural Roots" will be held from April 13th to 19th. The main Bình Đà festival will take place from April 20th to 22nd at the Bình Đà Inner Temple historical site (Bình Minh commune, Hanoi city) and several other related locations.
In particular, on the morning of April 22nd (corresponding to the 6th day of the 3rd lunar month of the Year of the Horse), a solemn procession, ritual, and incense offering ceremony will be held to honor the national ancestor Lac Long Quan, fulfilling the aspirations of descendants of Lac Hong both domestically and internationally to connect with their roots and express their reverence.
