After a break of over two months to make way for the busy schedule of the Vietnam U23 team, the V.League 2025/26 officially returns this weekend. The long wait has become all the more worthwhile as fans will immediately get to witness a fierce battle between the two leading teams in the standings.
Before round 12, Ninh Binh led with 27 points. Meanwhile, CAHN was right behind with only 1 point less and had played one less match. The opportunity to climb to the top was very clear for the police team, as they held the home advantage.
However, the team under coach Mano Polking faces disadvantages in terms of both personnel and physical fitness. Although they have the return of U23 national team players such as Dinh Bac, Ly Duc, and Minh Phuc, their potential contribution is not high.
While Ly Duc and Minh Phuc are usually substitutes, Dinh Bac has just gone through a very busy schedule after the U23 Asian Championship, making it difficult to guarantee his fitness. Furthermore, the Hanoi team has just returned from a tiring trip to Malaysia, where they lost 0-2 to Selangor and were officially eliminated early from the Southeast Asian Champions League.
On the other hand, Ninh Binh is brimming with confidence. After 11 matches played, the team from the ancient capital of Hoa Lu has not tasted defeat once, winning 8 and drawing 3. Their already high-quality squad has been further strengthened by promising young talents from Thanh Hoa such as Thai Son, Van Thuan, and Ngoc My (on loan to Thanh Hoa until the end of the season).
While the "final" match at Hang Day Stadium has a significant impact on the championship race, the clash between Hai Phong and The Cong also attracts considerable attention from fans. The two teams are currently ranked 3rd and 4th respectively, separated by only one point.
The team that wins at Lach Tray Stadium has a solid basis to join the championship race, should the match between CAHN and Ninh Binh end in a draw. Despite playing away from home, the military club still has plenty of confidence thanks to their impressive head-to-head record, winning 5 and drawing 4 of their last 9 encounters with Hai Phong.
Defending champions Nam Dinh have a chance to improve their 10th-place position and create a safer distance from the relegation zone, as they only have to play away at Thanh Hoa, a team facing an uncertain future after unexpectedly parting ways with key players.
Round 12 also features another "final" match, but in the lower half of the table. HAGL and Da Nang will clash in Pleiku, aiming for at least a draw. Currently, the visitors from Da Nang are at the bottom of the table, but if they leave Pleiku with 3 points, they will relinquish the last-place spot to the home team or PVF-CAND, who will be hosting CA TP.HCM.
