The joint venture of the National Institute of Architecture - Nihon Sekkei, Inc (Japan) - CONINCO Construction Technology, Equipment and Inspection Consulting Joint Stock Company won first prize in the competition for general urban planning ideas for Long Thanh airport and surrounding areas.
On January 9, information from the Dong Nai Department of Construction said that the unit had submitted a document to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on approving the results of the competition for ideas for the general urban planning of Long An airport and surrounding areas.

Accordingly, the process of announcing information inviting units to register for the competition took place from August 2024 to September 27, 2024, with 11 units registering for the competition and fully meeting the capacity requirements according to the approved competition regulations.
By December 30, 2024, the Selection Council was established, listened to presentations and scored 10 competition plans of 10 consulting units in round 2 of the competition (because 1 consulting unit did not participate).
As a result, the Examination Council selected the proposal of the joint venture of the National Institute of Architecture - Nihon Sekkei, Inc (Japan) - CONINCO Construction Technology, Equipment and Inspection Consulting Joint Stock Company (VIAR-NS-CONINCO joint venture) to win first prize with an average score of 82.38 points.
Second prize went to the project of the consortium Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. - Urban Design Research Institute - Nippon Koei Vietnam International Co., Ltd. with an average score of 75.38 points.
Third prize went to the joint venture Nikken Sekkei LTD - National Institute of Urban and Rural Planning with an average score of 65.62 points.
The consolation prize is the plan of the consortium of Southern Institute of Construction Planning - Green Space Architecture and Planning Company Limited - KCAP Architecture and Planning Company - G8A Architecture and Urban Planning Company Limited - Arup Vietnam Company Limited with an average score of 58.15 points.
According to the planning until 2030, Dong Nai takes 2 areas as new development driving forces for the province. The first area includes: Long Thanh Airport Urban Area - Completing the traffic infrastructure system connecting Long Thanh International Airport with the national and regional highway and railway systems. Comprehensively developing aviation services within the scope of Long Thanh International Airport.
In Long Thanh district: Developing urban areas in the southwest of Long Thanh International Airport; developing industrial and logistics clusters in the southeast of Long Thanh International Airport, connecting with the industrial - logistics service system of Cai Mep - Thi Vai seaport; developing urban - industrial - service chains along the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, National Highway 51 and Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City area.
According to the approved planning, Long Thanh urban area will be a city under Dong Nai province. It will play the role of one of the key urban areas of the Southern dynamic region and the central sub-region of the Southeast region, a dynamic urban area for socio -economic development in the central urban area of Dong Nai province.
