This information is now even clearer as Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman stated that he doesn't actually expect "exciting new features" for the iPhone 17 model.
The direct successor to the iPhone 16 was not well-received.
In his Power On report, Gurman stated that the standard iPhone 17 will continue the model of previous years, lacking any significant new features. According to previous leaks, this more affordable version will retain the design introduced with the iPhone 16. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro models will feature a new camera interface combining aluminum and glass, with a rearrangement of camera components, including the LiDAR scanner, flashlight, and microphone on the side.
The iPhone 17 isn't entirely lacking in upgrades.
But the affordable iPhone 17 won't be entirely devoid of innovation. Unlike the iPhone 14, considered the most boring version compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 13, the iPhone 17 will have some improvements such as the long-awaited ProMotion technology and Always-On Display. Gurman also said there will be "some minor improvements to the rear camera" and a new A19 chip.

Bloomberg experts also recommend that those looking to upgrade to a new iPhone and willing to spend around 20 million VND should consider "spending an extra 3 million VND to buy the thinner new iPhone 17 Air." Despite having only a single rear camera and some limitations due to the ultra-thin design, users won't have to sacrifice many other specifications for the iPhone 17 Air while still getting "a significantly thinner and lighter phone with a larger screen area."
Finally, Gurman also stated that the iPhone 17 Pro models will feature a significantly upgraded camera system with 48 MP sensors on all three rear cameras.
