At this time, the family of Ms. Ly Thi Mit, a Nung ethnic minority woman in Dong Thuy village, Kep commune, is focusing on fertilizing their pineapple crop. Last year, Ms. Mit's family earned about 50 million VND in profit from the pineapple harvest; this year, due to high demand for seedlings, her family is focusing on producing seedlings, both to sell to local people and to plant on their own farm. Ms. Mit happily said: "For the past few years, my family has been using fertilizers from Tien Nong Agricultural and Industrial Joint Stock Company (Tien Nong Company), supplied by the commune's Farmers' Association in coordination with the fertilizer producer on a deferred payment basis. Previously, my family had to buy from fertilizer dealers, and if we were late in paying, we had to pay high interest rates."
Reportedly, Mrs. Mit's family currently owns 4 sao (approximately 0.4 hectares) of pineapple plantations, 4 hectares of economic forest, and 1.2 acres of rice paddies. On average, her family registers to buy 1 ton of fertilizer from Tien Nong Company each year, paying only after 6 months, when it's time for harvest. "The fertilizer quality is guaranteed, and the company delivers it right to our house, which is very convenient," Mrs. Mit added.

Dong Thuy village has 372 households, mainly Nung and San Diu ethnic minorities. Due to its large area of hilly and forested land, the demand for fertilizer is high. Ms. Vi Thi Phuong, Head of the Farmers' Association in the village, said: “In 2023, when we implemented the program allowing members to purchase fertilizer on deferred payment terms, the villagers were hesitant because they didn't know the quality, so they only registered to buy 2-3 tons. However, after using it for a while and seeing the effectiveness, along with many deferred payment incentives, the entire village purchased more than 60 tons of fertilizer from Tien Nong Company during the recent spring crop season.”
According to the Provincial Farmers' Association, from 2015 to the present, the Tien Nong fertilizer supply program with deferred payment has been implemented in the province with many positive results; specifically for the 2024-2025 spring crop, through the Farmers' Association system at all levels, the entire province of Bac Giang (formerly) supplied more than 6,000 tons of various fertilizers, providing timely support to farmers in production, especially in key areas.
Entering the 2025 summer-autumn crop season, the Provincial Farmers' Association continues to accompany and support farmers in production and has signed a contract with Tien Nong Company to maintain the deferred payment fertilizer supply program throughout the province. The fertilizers focus on five types: NPK for base fertilization; NPK for top dressing and rapid growth; NPK specifically for fruit trees and industrial crops; NPK suitable for rice and other crops; and organic fertilizers for soil improvement and biological nutrient supplementation.
Mr. Dao Duy Huu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, said: “We are focusing on directing all levels of the association to coordinate closely with local authorities to promptly and fully inform each member about the new points in the implementation after the province merger, especially the practical benefits that the program brings. At the same time, we are providing specific guidance on the registration process, receiving goods, using them, and making payments on time.”
