Free Japanese Classes

Việt NamViệt Nam08/08/2023

“I have passed the health care professional skills exam and the Japanese language proficiency test (N4). I am currently preparing all the procedures to go to Japan to work in December 2023. This course opens up a bright future for me.” That is the sharing of Pham Kiem Khoa (born in 1995, from Quang Nam province) when participating in a free Japanese class organized by the City Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans in coordination with the Zeno Shounen Bokujo Social Welfare Organization (Japan).

Chairman of the City Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans Nguyen Hoang Long said that the class, organized by the association in coordination with the Zeno Shounen Bokujo Social Welfare Organization (Japan), is for students of working age, in difficult circumstances who cannot afford to attend paid Japanese language classes, and who wish to work at social welfare facilities in Japan or work at Japanese enterprises in Vietnam to increase their income and become independent in life.

According to Mr. Long, the class is directly taught by Mr. Takahashi Jun. So far, the second class opened on July 3, attracting 17 students. Mr. Takahashi Jun from Hiroshima Prefecture (Japan) shared: “The first class opened during the complicated Covid-19 situation, so our teachers and students taught and studied online. My students are very hard-working, enthusiastic and always try their best in their studies, which is a great encouragement for me. This has made me want to help many Vietnamese students understand Japanese culture and language so that when they come to Japan to work, they will soon adapt to life in Japan.”

According to Mr. Pham Kiem Khoa, in addition to teaching language, Mr. Takahashi Jun equips students with other knowledge such as Japanese culture and lifestyle to help students understand the Japanese way of life. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long said that the Japanese language class not only equips students with language knowledge but also creates an environment for Japanese and Vietnamese people to exchange cultures with each other. These cultural closeness factors are also a basis for better relations between the two countries. The Zeno Shounen Bokujo Organization's support of social security issues for the city has shown Japan's deep affection for Vietnam.

Ms. Uchida Miho, Head of International Department of Zeno Shounen Bokujo Social Welfare Organization, said: “When we started implementing the project “Comprehensive support activities to improve social welfare in Da Nang city” (2023-2025 period), we received a lot of support and assistance from the city government and the people here. We believe that the good relationship between the people of the two countries is the premise for developing the diplomatic relationship between Japan and Vietnam to deepen. In the future, the organization will also support the association's staff to go to Japan to exchange experiences in management and improve skills in caring for and nurturing people with disabilities, orphans and other disadvantaged people.”
