Gojek is partnering with Dat Bike to pilot passenger transportation, delivery, and food delivery services using electric motorbikes in Vietnam.

Following the signing of a cooperation agreement with Dat Bike, Gojek officially introduced the Weaver++ line of electric motorbikes from this Vietnamese brand to serve its passenger transport (GoRide), food delivery (GoFood), and parcel delivery (GoSend) services.

After test-driving Dat Bike's latest Weaver++, Gojek driver partners said they were delighted with the distinctive and unique design of this electric motorbike.

Reduce fuel costs.

For driver Tran Anh Tuan (30 years old), this was his first time driving an electric motorbike. After the training session and test drive, Tuan commented that the vehicle operated quite easily, smoothly, and without as much noise and vibration as a gasoline-powered motorbike.

"I see many advantages to riding an electric motorbike. First of all, it saves drivers money on fuel costs; I no longer have to worry about fluctuating gasoline prices. Not to mention, electric motorbikes also help protect the environment," said Tuan.

Meanwhile, driver Bui Le Hung (38 years old), who has been driving for Gojek for over two years, said he appreciates many strengths of the Dat Bike. He shared: "Electric bikes can significantly save drivers on fuel costs. Before, I also tried electric bikes from friends but felt hesitant due to limited models and scarce charging stations. However, with the model supported by Gojek, I liked it from the first test ride."

This driver was attracted to the car's "distinctive, individualistic, powerful, and unique design." According to him, this model is also easy to charge anywhere, which suits the nature of a ride-hailing driver's job.

Pham Van Truc (30 years old), a veteran Gojek driver for 5 years, was excited to try "working" with an electric motorbike. He said: "Using electric motorbikes to pick up and drop off passengers is quite new to my job, giving us a new experience. Lately, fuel costs have been a headache for many drivers, so hearing about electric motorbikes makes me feel like it's a way to save money. Normally, I spend about 100,000 VND on gasoline a day. If I use an electric motorbike, it will be much more economical."

According to Gojek, using the Dat Bike Weaver++ electric vehicle can help Gojek driver partners lower fuel costs by more than four times compared to gasoline-powered vehicles, thereby significantly saving on operating expenses.

The Dat Bike Weaver++ has a top speed of 90 km/h, with a range of 200 km on a single charge in 3 hours. Charging is also simple, as driver partners can charge their batteries for free at dozens of community charging points. The bike comes equipped with a fast charging port, allowing for a 100 km charge in 1 hour at any household power outlet and in just 20 minutes at a Dat Charge fast charging station. These factors are considered suitable for the daily activities of a ride-hailing driver partner.

Reduce urban emissions with affordable services.

According to a Gojek representative, introducing electric motorcycles to serve users' needs not only helps reduce operating costs for driver partners but is also an effort by the company to provide users with environmentally friendly and convenient services at reasonable prices. During the pilot phase, Gojek users using services on the app may coincidentally be served by Gojek drivers using Weaver++ motorcycles, at no extra cost, making this a completely random experience for users. Many customers, after receiving this surprise, left 5-star reviews on the Gojek app. Electric motorcycles are considered an essential part of improving the living environment because they are noiseless and produce no emissions.

Mr. Sumit Rathor, General Director of Gojek Vietnam, said: "Vietnam is an important market for Gojek. Our goal is to continue providing users with effective solutions, supporting the sustainable growth of our partners, and delivering a quality and convenient service experience at a reasonable price. These meaningful collaborative projects benefit the entire ecosystem, bring even greater value to all users, and create a positive impact on the communities where we operate."

Mr. Sumit added that this project aligns with GoTo Group's "Three Zeros by 2023" commitment and is an important step in Gojek's journey to reduce emissions and its efforts to transition its operating vehicles to 100% electric.

"The collaboration project between Gojek and Dat Bike not only provides a quality transportation experience at an affordable price, but also contributes to reducing air pollution, limiting noise pollution, and promoting the transition to green transportation for a more sustainable community and a cleaner environment," a Gojek representative shared.
