In 2010, Mr. Ly Van Truong and Ms. Vang Thi Hoa got married. That same year, they had their son, Hung. Holding his son, Mr. Truong's eyes welled up with tears as he recounted: "When Hung was born, he was chubby, adorable, and healthy, and the whole family was very happy. But when he started first grade, Hung started coughing a lot. Treatment didn't help, so my wife and I took him to provincial and central hospitals for examination, where we discovered he had a bronchial cyst."

Since then, Truong's family's finances have deteriorated. All their savings have been spent on medicine for their child, and they even had to sell their small house. Now, his family lives in a tiny house of less than 30 square meters, an extension of his parents' main house.

Because Hung was frail and in poor health, his parents often wanted him to drop out of school. However, for Hung, every day at school was a joyful one. Seeing his eagerness to learn, his family had to take him to and from school every day; on days when he felt well, he would go to school on his own.

While Hung's bronchial cyst was still a problem, he suddenly fainted one day while playing with his friends at school. After being notified by the school, Mr. and Mrs. Truong took their son for a check-up and discovered he had a very serious case of anemia (Teep 1). Because of his weakened health, he couldn't play like his classmates, but his academic performance didn't suffer. Rain or shine, he always went to class. The bronchial cyst and anemia tested Hung's resilience and perseverance. Even in great pain, Hung persevered and achieved excellent academic results. Scholarships helped Hung overcome difficulties, fight his illness, and pursue his dreams.

After each long period of treatment, Hung would return to school to study with his friends. Understanding Hung's family circumstances and his illness, over the past school years, the Principal of Na Hoi 1 Primary School, the teachers, especially his homeroom teacher and students in his class, along with the school's Youth Union, have been close to him and encouraged him. Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen, the Principal of Na Hoi 1 Primary School, said: "Although he has suffered from a terminal illness since childhood, Hung is very optimistic, diligent, and self-motivated. He always tries to study on his own, supplementing his knowledge by borrowing his friends' notebooks, combining them with textbooks, and asking teachers for help during his treatment breaks. His willpower is truly admirable."

In addition, the school provides Hung with all the necessary material support, introduces him to social organizations, and awards scholarships and grants to students facing difficulties. Besides providing emotional encouragement, the school's Board of Directors always creates every opportunity for him to study well and fulfill his dreams.

For Ly Duy Hung to achieve his dream of becoming a teacher, the journey ahead will be long and arduous. Given his tragic fate and heartbreaking circumstances, his family earnestly hopes to receive support and assistance from compassionate individuals, in the hope of finding a "source of light" for him to continue on his path of knowledge and fulfill his dreams.
