In mid-September, the "Film of Hope" volunteer group organized a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration for children in Aur village, Avuong commune. The journey to Aur village involved traversing over 100km of winding mountain roads and 18km of trails through the forest, steep slopes, and deep streams.

In Aur village, children receive attentive health check-ups from doctors and nurses, and are given cakes and gifts that family members carry on their backs over long distances.

In addition, the program included a cultural exchange night, lantern procession, and lion dance – experiences the children had never had before. These simple joys have become unforgettable childhood memories for the children of Aur.

One resident emotionally shared: “In my whole life, I’ve never seen such a vibrant Mid-Autumn Festival in my village. Seeing the children laughing happily warms our hearts and gives us renewed faith to overcome the difficulties in this border region.”

Meanwhile, The Hand in Hand group (University of Education, Da Nang University) is raising funds through lion dance performances. On this occasion, the group organized performances at 11 locations, with 3 acts in total, charging between 600,000 and 1,000,000 VND per location.

To ensure polished performances, the members practiced diligently for nearly a month beforehand. Currently, the group has about 40 core members who take turns performing; organizations needing their services will contact the group directly to arrange schedules.

The group dedicated all the funds raised to organizing a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at the Da Nang Center for Victims of Agent Orange and Disadvantaged Children, and also prepared for winter volunteer activities in disadvantaged areas.

Duong Vo Ha Tho, a member of the group, said: “All members want to bring the children not only joy on Mid-Autumn Festival night but also a feeling of care and love from the community. Each gift, each lion dance performance, is a heartfelt gesture from the students to underprivileged children.”

On the occasion of this year's Mid-Autumn Festival, the Da Nang City Youth Union, in coordination with the City's Charity and Child Protection Association and the Children's Palace, organized the "Lanterns Lighting Up Dreams" program for ethnic minority children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Phuoc Chanh commune.

At the event, the organizers awarded 50 scholarships and 481 gifts (mooncakes, lanterns, milk, candies, and publications from the Youth Pioneer and Children's Newspapers), with a total cost of over 120 million VND.

At the program, children also immersed themselves in a joyful and exciting atmosphere with many lively activities such as performing arts, folk games, and watching lion dances.

According to Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union Le Kim Thuong, the "Lanterns Lighting Up Dreams" program is an annual activity aimed at bringing a warm Mid-Autumn Festival to underprivileged children. The program also serves as an opportunity to encourage and motivate them to continue striving for success in their studies and lives.

This demonstrates the deep concern of the Youth Union, Youth Association, and Children's Union in caring for the material and spiritual lives of children, especially those with special circumstances and ethnic minorities in mountainous and remote areas.

The program also contributes to raising awareness and responsibility throughout society in working together to protect, care for, and educate the younger generation – the future owners of the country.
