
The exhibition showcases three popular Korean webtoons beloved in Vietnam: Solo Leveling ; Yeonsangun's Survival as a Chef ; and Trauma Center: Golden Hour.
Notably, Yeonsangun's webtoon "Surviving as a Chef" was adapted into a television drama titled "The Tyrant's Royal Chef," starring Lim Yoona and Lee Chae Min. The series aired in Vietnam from August 2025 and quickly topped the Netflix Vietnam charts, maintaining the number one position for four consecutive weeks.
In addition, Solo Leveling is a popular webtoon that has accumulated a total of 14.3 billion views globally (as of 2024), including in Vietnam.
The webtoon Trauma Center: Golden Hour has also been adapted into a TV series and ranked #1 on Netflix's global non-English language television program rankings. Following the resounding success of the TV series, the original webtoons are increasingly sought after and attracting the attention of audiences.
This K-webtoon exhibition showcases diverse works across various genres, including animation and television series, in separate spaces designed to give visitors the feeling of stepping directly into the world of webtoons. Visitors can take photos with webtoon characters, create their own webtoon dialogue, and experience many fun activities related to the exhibited works.
To recreate the depth of the characters and enhance the vibrancy of the exhibition, the space includes large-scale graphic walls, life-sized character models, and large-scale illustrations for each scene, giving viewers the feeling of being the main character in the comic. In addition, the exhibition space also includes video screens with immersive sound and a display area featuring various memorabilia from the film adaptations of the webtoons.
The webtoon exhibition space for "Solo Leveling" includes an area showcasing the main characters and guilds, a 3D interactive experience area, and a "Hunter" photo card printing experience area. The webtoon exhibition space for "Surviving as a Chef in Yeonsangun " includes a character exhibition area, a royal cuisine model display area, a "Culinary Prescription" photo card printing experience area, a screen displaying original images from the TV series, and a memorabilia display area. The webtoon exhibition space for " Injury Center: Golden Hour" includes a webtoon character exhibition area and a memorabilia display area.
Within the framework of the exhibition, the Korean Cultural Center is organizing many attractive programs such as: Meeting Korean webtoon authors and engaging in exciting experiential activities such as trying out dishes from the drama "The Tyrant's Chef," creating webtoon characters and dialogue, and webtoon creation workshops using AI...
At the opening ceremony and meet-and-greet with Korean webtoon authors held on June 30th at the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, Vietnamese audiences had the opportunity to meet author Hong Bichira, the creator of the webtoon " Trauma Center: Golden Hour ," and share stories about webtoons and the process of creating medical-themed webtoons.
Throughout the exhibition's official opening period from July 1st to August 28th, visitors can participate in various hands-on activities such as "My Webtoon Character," creatively designing characters using stickers; "My Webtoon Line," creating webtoon lines and making your own webtoon; "I Am a Chef," experiencing cooking dishes from the movie "The Tyrant's Royal Chef"; and "Creating Webtoons with AI," an activity for beginners in webtoon creation.
According to Ms. Park Chan A, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, the exhibition commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Center's establishment, showcasing popular Korean webtoons that have been adapted into games, animated films, and television series, while also hoping to promote cooperation between the Korean and Vietnamese webtoon industries.
The K-Comics Origin Vietnam Webtoon Exhibition is part of the project "Korean Comic and Webtoon Exhibition at Korean Cultural Centers Worldwide in 2026," supported by the Korea Creative Content Agency. The project is planned to be held in seven countries, with Vietnam as the first, followed by the United States, Indonesia, Argentina, Mexico, Hong Kong (China), and Poland.
