For Nguyen Hong Vinh, the famous poem "Color" by poet Che Lan Vien, with just four lines and 20 words, inspired him to write the poem "The Color of Truong Sa." This place is the culmination of many representative flower colors, symbolizing the love for the sea and islands, the longing for the mainland felt by naval soldiers beside the sovereignty marker, and the gratitude of young and old, men and women from all over the country towards this land amidst the rolling waves of the ocean, weaving together the immortal color of Truong Sa, the color of love and happiness resounding in the hearts of each person, echoing Che Lan Vien's lines: "Oh, Motherland, if needed, we will die / For every house, every street corner, every river..."
We are pleased to present this poem by Nguyen Hong Vinh:
COLOR OF TRUONG SA
Several times I've been to Truong Sa.
The poem " Colors" by the Che family.
My heart is still restless.
A feeling of melancholy wells up:
Happiness the color of lilies
Nostalgia for the color of reeds
Separation in tattered colors
Forgetting has no color.
Amidst the blue sea
The red part of the national flag
The golden sands are stained with blood.
Generations of the past
How could I forget?
Gac Ma Island that year
64 people died.
Protect the sacred land of our homeland!
Wind-blown graves line the streets.
White, fragrant lily flower
Beside the sovereignty marker
Soldiers are overcome with nostalgia.
The babbling of children
The mother's figure, bent over like a rice plant.
I'm busy from morning till noon.
Personal matters - shared interests are equally important...
The color of time is serene.
The color of Truong Sa is present.
The color of the mainland evokes nostalgia.
Your shadow is there from morning till noon…
