Previously, the MB Board of Directors appointed Mr. Luu Trung Thai, the General Director, to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors and proceeded with the procedures to appoint Mr. Pham Nhu Anh, the Deputy General Director in charge of the Executive Board, to the position of General Director. Mr. Pham Nhu Anh, born in 1980, holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the UBI Institute of Business Administration in Belgium and a Bachelor's degree in Economics with a specialization in Business Administration from the University of Economics and Business Administration, University of Da Nang. He has nearly 20 years of experience working in the finance and banking industry. At MB, Mr. Pham Nhu Anh has held many professional and managerial positions such as Branch Director, Division Director, and Member of the Executive Board.

From 2007 to 2017, as a branch manager, Mr. Pham Nhu Anh led these branches to become leaders in the Central and Southern regions. In April 2017, he was appointed Director of the Corporate Banking (CIB) division. In August 2020, Mr. Pham Nhu Anh was appointed a member of the Executive Board, responsible for managing the business operations of MB's units in the southern region and the CIB division. These units have all experienced exceptional and safe growth, increasing 2-5 times in the past three years.
By the end of Q1 2023, MB's total assets reached VND 760,761 billion, an increase of 4.4%. Consolidated pre-tax profit reached VND 6,512 billion, an increase of over 10% compared to the same period last year. Of which, the bank's own pre-tax profit reached VND 5,828 billion, a growth of 13.5% compared to the same period. Costs continued to be controlled at an efficient level with a consolidated CIR below 30%. MB's consolidated ROE remained high at 25.3%, ranking among the top performing banks.
