According to numerous sources from Spain, there has been a clear disagreement between the club's management and Mbappe's agent regarding the severity of the injury. The conflict between the two sides has also intensified concerning the timing of the French striker's return to playing.
Following the shock home defeat against Getafe on March 3rd, Real Madrid are even more anxious to bring Mbappe back into the squad as soon as possible. However, the 25-year-old star's family and close associates reportedly disagree with this view.
According to journalist Anton Meana of Cadena SER , Mbappe's left knee injury is more serious than what the club has announced.
In an official statement, Real Madrid said Mbappe only suffered a "sprain in his left knee" and was being closely monitored and treated. However, sources from Mr. Meana confirmed that the posterior cruciate ligament in Mbappe's left knee is becoming unstable.

The differing assessments of the injury between the two sides created a tense atmosphere at Real Madrid. Mbappe's team feared that rushing his return for the Champions League round of 16 match against Man City could put him at risk of a serious injury, possibly even a long-term absence.
