American Daniil Medvedev converted nine out of 22 break points as he defeated Sebastian Korda 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open on the evening of March 11.
Medvedev won nine return games, but also lost seven of his service games. The world number four only saved two of nine break points in the late match of the day, on Centre Court.

Medvedev and Korda are both over 1.95m tall and possess powerful serves. However, in their third-round match, both served poorly. Medvedev had a 51% first-ball landing rate, while Korda's was 56%. Together, they only had five aces, and Medvedev alone committed 10 double faults.
Despite winning 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, Medvedev was not satisfied with his performance. In the fourth round, he will face the 13th seed Grigor Dimitrov, who defeated Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 6-3.
With Novak Djokovic, Andrey Rublev, and Hubert Hurkacz eliminated early, only five of the top eight seeds remain. Three of them will compete tonight and tomorrow morning, Hanoi time. Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz will face Fabian Marozsan at 3 am, before Alexander Zverev takes on Alex De Minaur and Jannik Sinner faces Ben Shelton.
