Unfulfilled promises, failed attempts at reconciliation—all of this led Messi to choose silence over confrontation. He didn't want to become part of the old controversy, much less be placed in the position of a "king of politics."

However, being on the sidelines doesn't mean turning his back. Messi has repeatedly stated his desire to return to Barcelona in the future. The only question is the timing and the role. This could be after the World Cup, when he's no longer caught up in the demanding schedule, and when Barcelona's power structure is more stable.

Messi will return to Barca, but in his own way. Not through votes, not through campaign slogans, but through a position that transcends politics. And perhaps that is the only way for the relationship between Messi and Barcelona to be closed, or to open, a new, less tumultuous, but more sustainable chapter.
