Thanks to the support of AI, Copilot can help with everything from writing paragraphs and editing images to performing local actions such as asking to play a song, summarizing a website, turning on Dark Mode... It will be part of Edge and become an indispensable part of Microsoft 365 products in the future.
Windows 11 Moments 4 update is now available to customers
MS Paint is finally getting a modern makeover after 38 years, with support for layers for deeper editing and the addition of a background removal system. A text-to-image AI called Paint CoCreator will also be available to Windows Insiders. Meanwhile, the built-in Snipping tool has an OCR feature that detects text in images, which users can conveniently extract or edit with the press of a button. It also has new audio recording tools like mic capture in the screen recording system.
A new backup app is added in the update that syncs all your core PC preferences to the cloud, remembering details like pinned apps and taskbar items. On the security front, the latest update brings Passkey support with Windows Hello, allowing users to authenticate their identity to log in without having to remember a password via fingerprint sensor, face scan, or using a local PIN.
Users can check for updates for Windows 11 via the Settings app
If you are running Windows 11 and want to try out these new features, you can click the Windows button at the bottom of the screen and tap the settings icon that appears. In the Settings app, look in the left pane and click the Windows Update option. If there is a new Windows 11 update available, you will see it there along with a Download & Install button.
In case the update is not available, users can check manually by opening the Windows Update app and clicking the Check for Updates button. At this point, make sure to turn on the "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" switch.
Note that not all of the features described above will be available immediately, instead they may be rolled out in phases.
