The North is experiencing cold, rainy weather, with temperatures dropping below 5 degrees Celsius in some areas.

Due to the influence of the verstärkt cold front, the North will experience showers and thunderstorms in some areas, with cold weather, and some high mountainous areas will experience severe cold. The lowest temperatures during this cold spell will be 12-15°C in the Northern Delta and North Central regions; 9-12°C in the mountainous and midland areas of the North; and below 5°C in some high mountainous areas.

According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, on the afternoon of November 18th, a cold front affected most of the Northern region and some areas in the North Central region.

Rain and showers occurred in Northern and North Central Vietnam. At Bach Long Vy station, strong winds of level 7, sometimes level 8, with gusts up to level 9 were recorded. Con Co station experienced gusts of level 8. Hon Ngu station had strong northeast winds of level 6, with gusts up to level 7. Ly Son station had strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, with gusts up to level 8.

Forecasts indicate that on the evening and night of November 18th, the cold air mass will continue to affect other areas in the Northern and North Central regions, then extend to the Central and South Central regions. Inland, strong northeasterly winds of force 3-4 are expected, with coastal areas experiencing winds of force 4-5, and in some places reaching force 6, gusting to force 7.

Due to the influence of the verstärkt cold front, there will be rain, showers, and thunderstorms in some areas of Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An .

In the Northern and North Central regions, it will be cold; the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will experience intense cold, with some high mountainous areas experiencing severe cold, and some areas in the Northern plains will experience intense cold. From November 19th, Quang Tri province and Hue City will experience cold nights and mornings.

At sea, in the Gulf of Tonkin, northeasterly winds will be force 7, sometimes force 8, gusting to force 9-10; the sea will be rough; waves 3-5m high. In the northern South China Sea (including the Hoang Sa Special Economic Zone), northeasterly winds will be force 7-8, gusting to force 9-10; waves 4-6m high; the sea will be rough.

From Quang Tri to Quang Ngai and the northern sea area of ​​the central East Sea, northeast winds will be at level 6, sometimes level 7, with gusts of level 8-9; waves will be 4-6m; the sea will be rough.

From the night of November 18th, the sea area from Gia Lai to Ho Chi Minh City will experience northeasterly winds of force 6, gusting to force 7-8; waves 3-5 meters high; rough seas.

Experts warn that due to the influence of a strengthening cold front combined with disturbances in the upper easterly wind zone, widespread heavy rain is expected in the area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa. Cold and intensely cold weather may affect livestock and poultry, and the growth and development of crops. Heavy rain could cause flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on slopes. In a short period, heavy rain could cause flooding in urban and industrial areas. Strong winds, gusts, and large waves at sea may affect shipping and other activities.
