The 35th session of the 14th Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council approved a resolution setting the entrance fee to the Yen Tu historical site at 0 VND/person/visit until December 31, 2028.

The Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council has just agreed to adjust the 2026 GRDP target from over 12.5% ​​to over 13%, and simultaneously added a group of tasks and solutions to achieve the new target, emphasizing that accelerating the disbursement of public investment is the driving force for growth.

The Provincial People's Council also approved a regulation stipulating a 0 VND/person/visit entrance fee for the Yen Tu historical site, and simultaneously stipulating that 26% of the revenue will be retained by the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board to ensure regular expenses and to serve the tasks of fee collection, management, preservation, and promotion of heritage values. This regulation will be in effect from the date the resolution takes effect until December 31, 2028.

In the public investment group, the Provincial People's Council resolved to allocate 350 billion VND from the increased revenue from land use fees in the provincial budget in 2025 to 9 projects. The capital is mainly concentrated in the fields of education , training, and transportation, and the council also requested that the implementation be carried out in accordance with regulations, with strict management to prevent loss and waste.

The session also dismissed Mr. Ngo Quang Hung and Mr. Nguyen Trong Dien from their positions as members of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, and elected Mr. Pham Duc Thang, Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office, as an additional member of the Provincial People's Committee.

It is known that the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiet Bac complex of historical sites and scenic spots was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site at its 47th session in July 2025. This is the 9th heritage site in Vietnam, spanning three localities: Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong City.

According to the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, the free admission policy is in line with the needs of numerous monks, Buddhists, and tourists who come to worship and pray, while also contributing to promoting the image of Yen Tu, a place associated with Emperor Tran Nhan Tong and the formation of Truc Lam Buddhism. This is also seen as a way of showing gratitude to all sectors of the population who have contributed to the preservation and restoration of the relics and the preparation of the dossier for submission to UNESCO.

From January 1st, 2018, Quang Ninh province began charging an entrance fee to Yen Tu at 40,000 VND per adult per visit and 20,000 VND per child per visit. Revenue in the initial years reached approximately 30-40 billion VND per year, which was allocated to the management and preservation of the historical site and the local budget.
