To ensure the movement's effectiveness, the Farmers' Association of the commune has intensified its propaganda efforts, helping people understand the purpose and significance of environmental protection through campaigns to build household waste incinerators. As a result, the environment in the area has noticeably improved, overcoming the problem of indiscriminate waste dumping.

Thanks to regular awareness campaigns and persuasion efforts, households have proactively built their own waste incinerators. On average, each incinerator costs between 600,000 and 700,000 VND, is easy to build and use, and has long-lasting value.

Previously, the family of Ms. Quách Thị Chi, 54 years old, a farmer member in Thọ Mai hamlet, used to gather waste in an empty plot of land behind their house to burn it. This method was only applicable during the dry season; it was very inconvenient during the rainy season. Therefore, when the local authorities implemented the model of building household waste incinerators, Ms. Chi immediately responded positively.

According to Ms. Quách Thị Chi, having a waste incinerator at home ensures environmental hygiene.

Ms. Chi shared: “I sweep around the house and sort the waste. Recyclable waste and organic waste are kept, and anything that is no longer used is burned. Having a home incinerator ensures environmental hygiene, not only for my family but also for the cleanliness of the village streets and alleys. The villagers are very happy.”

Mr. Vo Van B, 58 years old, residing in Phu Thanh hamlet, also recently built a waste incinerator. Mr. B stated: “The Farmers' Association of the commune encouraged me to build one, and I proactively did so to ensure hygiene. The model is very effective; the waste is burned cleanly, contributing to protecting my family's health.”

Mr. Tran Quoc Duy, Chairman of the Phu My Commune Farmers' Association, said: “To encourage people to actively participate, the Association has intensified widespread propaganda among cadres and farmer members at branch meetings, group meetings, etc., about the effectiveness of using waste incinerators. In addition, the Association has established a volunteer team to build waste incinerators free of charge for people when needed. Through propaganda and mobilization, the awareness of farmer members has significantly improved; people understand that the purpose of building waste incinerators is to serve their own families and at the same time contribute to the local area's New Rural Development program.”

The Phu My Commune Farmers' Association has 809 members, and to date, over 95% of them have built household waste incinerators. With low investment costs, ease of implementation, and high applicability, the household waste incinerator model of Phu My Commune's farmers' association members has been and continues to be effective, contributing to environmental protection, raising people's awareness of maintaining general hygiene in rural areas, and helping to uphold environmental criteria in the construction of new rural areas.
