Mr. Ngo Dien Hy, Deputy General Director of VNPT Group, stated that Industry 4.0 is completely changing all aspects of life. AI data is also permeating all fields, even those unfamiliar with technology. It is predicted that in the next one to two years, AI will significantly change technology, human resources, and information. Without AI, technology products will have no place in the market. It is projected that by 2026, up to 50% of programming jobs will be performed by AI technology. Currently, ChatGPT is the most famous AI product in the world , with 175 billion parameters. However, according to Mr. Nguyen Tien Cuong, Director of VNPT AI, AI products worldwide are currently facing several issues, such as the accuracy of their output (false information), data security (data leaks to foreign servers), slow data updates, and dependency on users. Therefore, Vietnamese AI assistants should be developed in a specialized direction for a specific industry, field, or business function. To build an AI virtual assistant, Mr. Nguyen Tien Cuong believes that four factors are necessary: people, infrastructure, knowledge, and strategy. Of these, the human and infrastructure factors only require funding. Knowledge, which is data, plays an extremely important role but is not easy to collect and standardize according to regulations. Inaccurate data makes implementation impossible. Currently, VNPT is creating AI assistants to compress knowledge in various fields and serve all users.

According to Huynh Quang Liem, General Director of VNPT Group, AI is a very broad field, but only in the last 5 years has it permeated every aspect of life. However, to obtain authentic and reliable data, in addition to scientific data and globally recognized standard knowledge, Vietnamese AI products must be written by Vietnamese people and use Vietnamese data. Specifically, regarding knowledge of history, geography, culture, religion, etc., Mr. Huynh Quang Liem believes that these should be written by Vietnamese people, even by Vietnamese people working in those fields, using Vietnamese data. Thanks to its comprehensive digital transformation ecosystem, VNPT has created specialized AI assistants. VNPT is developing a virtual assistant for History to help students self-study, grasp knowledge, and pass the History exam… “Without AI, technology products would have no place. With just a question, and an AI platform, we can create incredibly good AI virtual assistants within a few months. Currently, all of VNPT's products are geared towards integrating AI, especially Vietnamese products which will use Vietnamese data, official data,” Mr. Huynh Quang Liem emphasized.

Over the years, VNPT has been a pioneer and partner with the Government in the national digital transformation. In 2021, the Government issued the National Strategy on Research, Development, and Application of AI until 2030, aiming to make AI a key technology sector in Vietnam's Fourth Industrial Revolution. Leveraging its technological capabilities, VNPT has actively invested in research and development of artificial intelligence-based products and services. The VNPT AI ecosystem currently comprises seven products: the VNPT eKYC electronic identification platform; a customer care and consulting support solution platform; the VNPT Smartbot virtual assistant platform; the VnSocial social media monitoring and listening platform; the VNPT Smart Voice intelligent voice platform; the VNPT Smart Vision image processing platform; the VNPT Smart Reader intelligent document digitization platform; and the vnFace attendance and timekeeping solution 4.0. Specifically, the three platforms and solutions VNPT eKYC, vnFace, and VNPT Smart Vision are developed from VNPT FaceID facial biometric technology, one of VNPT's major achievements in the field of AI.
To date, VNPT FaceID is the only Vietnamese AI model to be ranked in the Top 10 globally by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Simultaneously, this technology is certified by iBeta (FIDO Alliance) to meet ISO30107-3 standards. This means that fraudulent techniques such as using images, videos, or tools that simulate human faces will all be detected. VNPT eKYC is also a core product researched and developed by VNPT AI engineers on the most advanced AI technology platform. The product can accurately recognize and extract information from personal documents and portraits, instantly detecting unusual cases such as face or document forgery.

According to Mr. Ngo Dien Hy, solutions within the ecosystem have been deployed by VNPT for government agencies and businesses in various fields such as finance, banking, e-commerce, and information technology. To date, the VNPT AI ecosystem has served millions of users, processed over 1 billion queries and over 100 million customer service calls. Mr. Ngo Dien Hy affirmed that AI applications will contribute to promoting a creative society, an efficient government, protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety, and promoting sustainable economic growth. VNPT AI is ready to accompany businesses and the government in the digital transformation process by providing easily deployable, accessible, and customizable technology solutions to solve problems quickly, while ensuring the safety and security of user information.
