According to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) businesses, the price of a 12 kg gas cylinder has increased by approximately 30,000 VND, reaching 504,400 VND/cylinder; a 6 kg cylinder by about 15,000 VND; a 20 kg cylinder by about 50,000 VND; and a 45 kg cylinder by more than 112,000 VND. This is the third increase in gas prices in March.
Previously, gas prices were adjusted upwards from March 1st and increased further on March 6th. Overall, since the beginning of March, the price of a 12 kg gas cylinder has increased by approximately 40,000 VND, and compared to the beginning of February, the increase is about 75,000 VND per cylinder.

Recently, at a meeting with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, Mr. Tran Anh Dung, Deputy General Director of Southern Gas Trading Joint Stock Company (Gas South), informed that the total inventory at the company's four warehouses is approximately 1,601 tons out of a total capacity of 8,100 tons. The imported gas must be immediately filled and distributed to the dealer network and individual customers.
According to estimates, the demand for Gas South in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding areas in March was approximately 4,500 tons, with current supply meeting about 75-80% of that demand. Meanwhile, major suppliers such as Hyosung Vina and PVGas Trading have yet to finalize their import delivery plans for April and May.
Faced with supply difficulties, some gas businesses have proposed a temporary solution: reducing the volume of gas refilled, such as refilling 12kg cylinders to 6kg or 45kg cylinders to 22kg. These businesses stated that this is only a temporary solution while they petition regulatory authorities for support in working with importers to stabilize supply and reduce price increases in the market.
