Green spaces connect communities.
“Bird Storytelling Station” is an interactive sound installation space in the community, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to connect people with nature in the most vivid way. This model is part of the “Green Citizens - Healthy Cities” project, implemented by the Center for Living and Learning for the Environment and Community (Live & Learn) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and related units, starting in April 2026.
For students, the "Birdsong Listening Station" is both a tourist attraction and a place to create new and interesting extracurricular lessons about nature, in addition to textbooks. Nguyen Bao Chau, a student from Nguyen Du Secondary School (Ban Thach Ward), said: "In this space, we can learn more about different bird species and understand more about nature conservation and wildlife protection."
Currently, Da Nang has three monitoring stations located at 24/3 Square, the visitor reception area on Dam River (Ban Thach ward), which boasts a diverse ecosystem, and Cua Garden (Huong Tra ward), home to centuries-old Vietnamese heritage trees. After a period of operation, the system has recorded the presence of 49 bird species at 24/3 Square, along with 89 species at Dam River and 53 species in the Cua Garden area.

According to Mr. Bui Ngoc Huy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Tra Ward, the "Bird Storytelling Station" model demonstrates the biodiversity potential of the locality, proving the image of a "blessed land" that needs to be protected together. This also raises community awareness about ecological conservation and creates a check-in point for locals and tourists.
"In the coming time, the locality will continue to promote models that integrate culture, art, and the environment, creating healthy recreational spaces, and gradually building Huong Tra ward into a friendly, attractive, and distinctive destination," Mr. Huy said.
Utilizing new institutions to serve the people.
Besides green spaces connected to nature, many localities in the city also focus on investing in and upgrading cultural and sports facilities to meet the increasing needs of the community.
The An Khe Ward Cultural and Sports Center (located at 109 Le Trong Tan Street) is one of the newest facilities in the city, put into operation in February 2026, with a total investment of nearly 15 billion VND. The facility includes a two-story multi-purpose building with a construction area of 735m² and a total floor area of 1,400m² ; a one-story administrative building with an area of 66m² ; and a 92m² outdoor stage combined with a central multi-purpose court. In addition, there is an artificial football field and a system of equipment for recreation and sports training for the local people.

According to Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Ha, Deputy Director of the Public Service Supply Center of An Khe Ward, since its commissioning, the facility has effectively served the recreational needs and created a common living space for residents in the ward.
In the coming period, the center will continue to propose additional investment in sports and fitness facilities and create conditions for martial arts and aerobics clubs to operate. From June 26-28, to commemorate the first anniversary of the ward's establishment, the unit will organize a series of activities including a community sports festival, camping, a family meal competition, and a cultural program, contributing to creating a healthy playground and improving the spiritual life of the people.
Similarly, the Hoa Xuan Ward Cultural and Sports Center is a newly renovated and upgraded facility with a modern appearance and is gradually becoming more effective. The complex includes a children's playground, football, basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts, along with landscaping and gardens, basically meeting the needs of residents for physical training and community interaction.

Mr. Le Cong Dong, Vice Chairman of the Hoa Xuan Ward People's Committee, said that the locality has assigned the Ward's Public Service Supply Center to develop a plan for the effective exploitation and operation of the facility. This includes continuing to scientifically arrange community living spaces, supplementing outdoor fitness and sports equipment, and creating conditions for cultural, artistic, and sports clubs to maintain regular activities.
“After the administrative boundaries were expanded, the demand for living and recreational spaces for the people increased. Therefore, the locality aims to maximize the functionality of the center, research appropriate forms of socialization in accordance with regulations, and organize more cultural and sports activities so that these facilities truly become common gathering places, connecting the local community,” Mr. Dong said.
