Sowing the seeds of knowledge

As one of the four contestants winning the "Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador" award at the "Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador" contest in 2025, Doan Vu Minh Thu, a student at Nguyen Trai High School (Lien Chieu Ward) shared that reading books helps her accumulate a lot of knowledge, helps her become more mature in thinking, empathize and understand herself better.

In her entry, Thu chose a book by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh, a work that changed her perspective on kindness, determination and responsibility in life. From there, Thu wanted to spread good values ​​to her friends, conveying positive inspiration from the book.

From Thu's sharing, it can be seen that each book is not only a companion but also a silent teacher that nurtures the soul and arouses the desire to learn in young people. From that passion, the reading movement among Da Nang students gradually spread, becoming a bright spot in the journey of sowing knowledge and fostering reading culture in schools and communities.

Similarly, with the “Da Nang Reading Culture” award 2025, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, a student at Phan Chau Trinh High School (Hai Chau Ward) shared that she was very happy to win the contest. This is a useful playground for students of all levels in the city, through which Ngan and many other students are encouraged to express their passion for books; be creative in spreading reading culture, become “ambassadors” to inspire reading to family, friends and society...

Like Da Nang, in Quang Nam (old), activities related to reading culture are also strongly implemented. The contest "Quang Nam Province Reading Culture Ambassador" in 2025 organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Department of Education and Training, Quang Nam College from May to August 2025 also attracted a large number of contestants to participate in both writing and video editing.

According to the organizers, the entries from primary, secondary and high school students showed a love of books and rich creativity. Many entries had unique ideas and profound content, showing their understanding, life experiences and aspiration to spread reading culture to the community; suggesting new thoughts on building reading habits, training personality and life skills for the young generation.

Among them are articles by primary school students expressed through vivid and attractive videos , invested in both content and form, creating good effects and high quality such as the works of Huynh Mai Ngan Giang (class 5C, Nguyen Van Troi Primary School, Nui Thanh commune), Duong Bao An (class 2/1, Vo Thi Sau Primary School, (Tam Ky ward). Make reading a habit

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, “Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador” is one of the specific activities to implement the goals of developing the city’s reading culture. At the same time, it contributes to developing the reading movement in schools, encouraging students’ creativity and active learning spirit; promoting reading culture among young people in particular and the city in general.

After 7 years of organization, the contest has become a familiar meeting place for those who love reading, affirming the strong influence of the reading movement in schools. The investment and enthusiasm in the contestants' entries show that they do not just stop at their feelings about their favorite books but also come up with creative solutions to promote the reading culture movement.

According to Ms. An, the creativity and initiative of students, along with the support of teachers and parents, have contributed to spreading and nurturing the love of reading and arousing the spirit of self-study and discovery among young people. “In the coming years, the city will expand its scale, creating conditions for students across the region to exchange, learn and develop their creativity, helping them have more useful playgrounds, enriching their souls and knowledge,” Ms. An said.

In addition to the activities of the "Reading Culture Ambassador" contest, in recent years, the city's cultural sector has organized many activities related to the Reading Culture Festival to spread and arouse the love of reading in the community.

In 2025, the city will organize many meaningful activities to spread reading culture such as "Reading Culture Festival 2025" with the themes: "Spring and pages of books"; "Reading culture - connecting the community"; "Sowing seeds of knowledge - Lighting up the future"; Son Tra Book Festival 2025 with the theme "Books - Door to knowledge"; Hai Chau Book Festival...

In addition to displaying and introducing new books to readers, these events also have many rich activities such as exhibitions displaying information resources, valuable documents, new books, good books; talk shows, seminars, topics on reading culture, artificial intelligence, learning skills... aiming to affirm the role and position of reading culture in social life, contributing to improving people's knowledge, nurturing the soul, developing creative thinking and forming a healthier lifestyle.

The 2025 "Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador" contest had 46,437 entries, 28 best entries were awarded 4 "Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador" prizes and 24 "Da Nang Reading Culture" prizes. At the same time, the organizing committee selected 6 best entries to send to the national contest. At the "Quang Nam Province Reading Culture Ambassador" contest, the organizing committee awarded 4 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 6 third prizes, 12 consolation prizes and 2 thematic prizes. Quang Nam Library selected 4 best entries to send to the national contest.
