In the context of increasingly demanding, high-pressure, and long-term professional work, maintaining a regular exercise routine has become essential for every individual. This is especially true for faculty, staff, and workers in higher education environments, who spend most of their time working with computers, files, lectures, and research activities. A lack of physical activity can easily lead to various health problems such as stress, fatigue, musculoskeletal disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and decreased physical fitness. Therefore, the "Every Day Exercise, A Journey to Health" campaign is not just a simple physical activity but also aims to build a culture of health care within the university's labor union community.
The movement has been widely implemented across all affiliated departmental trade unions with the goal of encouraging each union member and worker to maintain daily physical activity through suitable forms such as walking, jogging, cycling, yoga, aerobics, badminton, volleyball, swimming, or other favorite sports . The movement emphasizes self-discipline, proactiveness, and suitability to each individual's work conditions and health, aiming to form sustainable exercise habits in daily life.
A key feature of the movement is its flexibility in organization and participation. Departmental unions are encouraged to develop activity models that suit the specific conditions of their units, such as establishing walking clubs, running clubs, organizing mid-morning exercise sessions, regular sports exchanges, or online fitness challenges. The application of technology in monitoring and recording exercise results is also encouraged to motivate union members to actively participate, share achievements, and spread the spirit of health and fitness throughout the school.
Besides improving physical health, the movement also plays a significant role in improving the mental well-being of union members and employees. Collective sports activities help strengthen bonds between departments, create a friendly and open environment for interaction, and build a spirit of solidarity throughout the university. This is also an opportunity for staff, lecturers, and employees to balance work and life, reducing stress after hours of work, teaching, and research.
The "Every Day, a Journey to Health" movement also demonstrates the deep concern of the Hanoi Open University Trade Union for the lives of its members and employees. Caring for health goes beyond regular health check-ups and welfare benefits; it also aims to build a humane working environment where each individual is encouraged to develop comprehensively, both physically and mentally. A healthy workforce will be a crucial foundation for improving the quality of teaching, scientific research, and work efficiency, contributing to the successful achievement of the University's development goals in the new phase.
To ensure the movement's practical effectiveness, the School's Trade Union Executive Committee requested that departmental trade unions proactively promote and encourage members to participate through various engaging methods. Communication efforts were emphasized through the website, fanpage, internal information groups, and the school's information channels to spread the message "Every day a healthy step, every day a positive journey." Simultaneously, units were urged to commend and promote exemplary individuals who actively participated in exercise, creating a widespread impact within the trade union community.
Furthermore, the movement is linked to activities in response to major holidays and events of the education sector and trade union organizations such as Workers' Month, Vietnam Sports Day, and school sports competitions… This creates a vibrant competitive atmosphere, encourages physical training, and promotes a healthy cultural life among staff, lecturers, and employees.
The implementation of the "Every Day, a Journey to Health" movement is a practical and meaningful activity. The movement not only contributes to improving the health and quality of life for union members and employees but also creates motivation to promote a positive, creative, and responsible work ethic throughout the school.
In the coming time, with the active response of the departmental trade unions and the proactive participation of each trade union member and employee, the movement promises to become a regular activity, creating a beautiful cultural atmosphere in the educational environment of Hanoi Open University. Each step taken in this daily movement will be a journey towards the health, happiness, and sustainable development of each individual as well as the University as a whole.
