Around the end of April to the end of May each year, after enduring a humid spring with continuous rain, Cuc Phuong enters butterfly season, with large swarms of butterflies filling the entire forest.
The butterflies that migrate to Cuc Phuong are mostly white butterflies, but there are also colorful forest butterflies such as swallowtail butterflies and citrus butterflies… The entire peaceful forest suddenly becomes vibrant, like a colorful painting woven by the butterflies.
Butterflies swarm in white clusters on the ground, fluttering around every step of the visitors. At this time, the butterflies are like hospitable hosts, encircling each step to welcome the esteemed guests. Experiencing Cuc Phuong Forest during butterfly season, you will be immersed in pristine nature and admire a magical natural landscape.
Cuc Phuong National Park is located about 120km from Hanoi , so visitors have many transportation options. The first is to travel independently by car or motorbike along the Phap Van – National Highway 1A route. After reaching the Gian Khau intersection, follow National Highway 12 to reach the national park.
If traveling by bus from Hanoi, you can catch buses from Giap Bat bus station to Nho Quan. Because the route is quite short, the ticket only costs around 70,000 to 100,000 VND per trip. After getting off in Nho Quan, take a bus to Cuc Phuong National Park.
