According to information from the US side, President Donald Trump signed the document with Iran just before a dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles, on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France. The memorandum was delivered directly to President Trump by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Before signing, Trump emphasized to the leaders present that reaching this agreement was not easy.

French President Emmanuel Macron subsequently welcomed the agreement signed in Versailles, calling it an important step toward ending the conflict and reopening the Strait of Hormuz free of charge. Macron also stated that the two sides would have approximately 60 days to finalize agreements related to nuclear issues, ballistic missiles, and regional operations.

On the Iranian side, state television IRIB broadcast images of President Masoud Pezeshkian signing a memorandum with the US and holding documents signed by both leaders. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said the document, brokered by Pakistan, had been finalized with the signatures of both presidents. Baqaei also stated that within 60 days, neither side should increase its military presence in the region or impose new sanctions. According to Baqaei, the document was drafted in both English and Persian at Iran's request to ensure transparency.

Previously, this document was electronically signed on June 14th by US Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. According to the original plan, Vance and Ghalibaf were expected to travel to Geneva, Switzerland, to sign the agreement on June 19th.

Following the signing of the agreement by the US and Iranian presidents, Pakistani mediators stated that the ceremony in Geneva would still take place to celebrate this landmark event and begin technical-level negotiations. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also said that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding would take effect immediately.
