(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Using firecrackers, a 13-year-old boy in Nong Cong town, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province suffered multiple injuries and a crushed hand.
On March 3rd, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Children's Hospital indicated that doctors and nurses had provided emergency care and surgery to a male student from Nong Cong district who suffered multiple injuries from a firecracker explosion.
According to Dr. Bui Minh Hai, from the Trauma Department of the Children's Hospital, at around 3 PM on March 2nd, the hospital received patient P.D.A. (born in 2012) with multiple injuries and a crushed left hand.
"Upon admission, the patient had multiple injuries throughout the body, with a crushed left hand that had been bandaged and bleeding controlled. Examination revealed numerous burns and charred areas on the face, neck, and chest, adhering to a large amount of foreign matter including dirt and sand; multiple small bleeding wounds on the right forearm, accompanied by charring and adhering to a large amount of foreign matter including dirt and sand; and notably, the lower third of the left forearm and neck were completely crushed..."
Doctors at Thanh Hoa Pediatric Hospital provided emergency treatment for the wounds, performed amputation surgery, and created a stump for the irreparable hand. After the surgery, the patient's health is stable," Dr. Hai informed.
According to the head of the Children's Hospital, on the afternoon of March 3rd, a representative of the family requested that the patient be transferred to a central-level hospital for further treatment.
