Hung Lo Rice Noodle Cooperative in Van Phu ward focused on improving quality after being recognized as a 4-star OCOP product, and successfully upgraded to a 5-star rating.
The Hung Lo Rice Noodle Cooperative in Van Phu is one of the first entities to participate in the province's OCOP program since 2019. Currently, its products, "Hung Lo Rice Noodles Born from the Village" and "Hung Lo Special Rice Noodles," have achieved 5-star OCOP certification and are widely known to consumers. Since being recognized under the OCOP program, the value of the cooperative's products has doubled compared to before.
Mr. Cao Dang Duy, Director of Hung Lo Rice Noodle Cooperative, said: Participating in and achieving OCOP certification has opened up a new and more effective direction in the cooperative's production and business process; helping the product build trust with consumers, meet quality and food safety standards, qualify for participation in supermarket systems, and gradually access the international market.
To achieve these results, the cooperative has always prioritized maintaining product quality and reputation, especially after being recognized as an OCOP product. The entire production process must strictly adhere to food safety standards such as HACCP and ISO.
As a result, the cooperative's products are increasingly establishing their position in the market, meeting the stringent technical requirements for export to markets such as Japan and China.
Similarly, the Da Hen Tea Production and Processing Cooperative in Dong Luong is also one of the first entities to participate in the OCOP Program. Thanks to its focus on improving product quality, the cooperative has gradually expanded its market, creating stable jobs for more than 20 members with an average income of 8-10 million VND/person/month.
With 13 hectares of primary tea plantations, the cooperative supplies the market with over 210 tons of tea annually, including green and black tea. The cooperative has proactively partnered with several companies such as Nam Son Company, Phuc Lam Thai Nguyen , and Thanh Nam Tea Cooperative to sell black tea for export; the remaining green tea is sold through partnerships with domestic businesses and supermarkets.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of the Cooperative, shared: "With the goal of protecting public health and maintaining the reputation of the premium Da Hen tea brand, the Cooperative always prioritizes credibility, quality, and service attitude. Members regularly conduct cross-monitoring throughout the planting, caring, harvesting, processing, and consumption processes according to VietGAP and HACCP standards. The Cooperative has also invested in an electric roasting, drying, and processing line to stabilize and improve product quality. As a result, the product is increasingly trusted by consumers, and both production volume and selling price have increased compared to before."

Members of the Da Hen Tea Production and Processing Cooperative in Dong Luong commune are applying organic tea cultivation methods instead of using chemical fertilizers to improve product quality.
To date, Phu Tho province has 696 OCOP products that have achieved 3 stars or higher, including 584 3-star products, 106 4-star products, and 6 5-star products.
To further implement the OCOP Program in depth, enhance the value and brand of products, the province directs the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the authorities of communes and wards to integrate funding sources to support OCOP product development; promote the application of science and technology and digital transformation; gradually upgrade the quality, design, packaging, and labels; diversify products and focus on building product stories.
In addition, the province is orienting product development towards concentrated, large-scale commodity production, meeting advanced quality management standards, organic production, suitable for the domestic market and aiming for export, participating in higher star rating assessments.
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Hiep - Deputy Head of the Rural Development Sub-Department, said: The Department of Agriculture and Environment will continue to coordinate with localities to guide and support businesses in focusing on improving and upgrading their strong products; and at the same time, developing new products. Priority will be given to supporting products that apply small and medium-scale preliminary processing and processing technologies, especially deeply processed products from local specialties and raw materials.
Phu Tho province is striving to develop sustainable OCOP products, ensuring both quality and value, contributing to raising people's income, effectively utilizing the advantages of the raw material region, and promoting local socio-economic development.
