Along with focusing on developing industry, handicrafts, tourism, and services, in recent years, Viet Tri city has also concentrated its resources on effectively implementing the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program, based on exploiting the potential and advantages of the locality to create marketable agricultural products. This helps businesses improve the competitiveness of their products in the market, contributing to economic development, increasing income, and improving the material and spiritual lives of their residents.

The Nam Duong Cordyceps business in Van Phu ward implements production steps that ensure safety and quality, meeting the OCOP 3-star product standards.
To develop and enhance the value of OCOP products, the City People's Committee has strengthened propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people and businesses to boldly invest in infrastructure and expand scale while ensuring quality and food safety standards.
Specifically, for OCOP products that have already been evaluated and classified, Viet Tri City will continue to consolidate, maintain, develop, and improve the quality and value of OCOP products, standardizing them to higher star ratings; focusing on criteria related to quality, design, packaging, product style, trade promotion, advertising, and product introduction; innovating production organization, promoting production linkages towards stable commodity production linked to the market along the value chain; and periodically evaluating, ranking, and re-certifying them according to regulations.
For new products, the city focuses on supporting product development consulting, product profile building, product standardization support, trademark development and registration, and advanced quality management certifications such as ISO, VietGAP, and HACCP. As a result, in 2023, the city had 6 more products recognized as achieving 3-star OCOP standards, a 200% increase compared to the plan.
To date, the entire city has 16 OCOP products achieving 3-star rating or higher, with 13 entities and 10 out of 22 communes and wards having OCOP products. Among these, the Provincial Council has submitted to the Central Council for evaluation and classification one OCOP product with the potential to achieve 5-star rating: Clean rice noodles from Hung Lo village, produced by the Hung Lo Rice Noodle Cooperative, Hung Lo commune.

Tuyết Lan's nutritious instant noodles with water spinach flavor from Hung Lo commune have achieved OCOP 3-star rating, meeting market demand.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Tam - Head of the Economic Department of Viet Tri City, said: OCOP products have met quality standards with diverse designs and packaging suitable for market needs; contributing to increasing value, production scale and revenue. Entities are investing in increasing production scale towards commodity production, diversifying products and improving economic efficiency, such as: Hung Lo rice noodles, Nam Duong Cordyceps mushrooms, Ninh Hang sticky rice cakes... The value of goods produced from OCOP products in 2023 increased by 10-15% compared to the same period. Some entities saw high revenue increases such as: Ninh Hang sticky rice cakes, with a production increase of about 30%; Hung Lo rice noodle cooperative, with a revenue increase of 30-35%, contributing to providing stable employment for many workers, with incomes of 6-8 million VND/person/month.
Implementing the OCOP program is an effective solution to enhance the value of agricultural products, preserve and promote traditional product values, and link agricultural development with services and tourism. Therefore, in 2024, Viet Tri city aims to develop and standardize 3 products to achieve 3-star rating or higher; and upgrade 1 product from 3-star to 4-star. By the end of 2024, it is expected that 19 products in the city will have achieved OCOP standards of 3 stars or higher.
To achieve this goal, the city continues to encourage communes and wards to select and develop potential, distinctive, and traditional products of businesses, cooperatives, craft villages, households, and production and business establishments... focusing on developing and standardizing products to participate in the OCOP Program.
Implement activities to connect product consumption and introduce OCOP products at shopping centers and specialty product sales points; display, promote, introduce, and sell OCOP products in conjunction with tourism tours, routes, and festival activities inside and outside the city. Coordinate with relevant sectors to organize training and professional development for state management officials at the city, commune, and ward levels; businesses, cooperatives, farms, craft villages, household owners, and production and business establishments participating in the OCOP Program.
