Every year, the commune cultivates nearly 200 hectares of rice, over 100 hectares of corn... Taking advantage of the large hilly land area, the commune has encouraged people to develop tea and fruit tree cultivation; forming many concentrated production areas such as Dien grapefruit growing areas, high-quality rice areas, safe vegetables... The building of brands and traceability of local agricultural products has been promoted, contributing to increasing the value and competitiveness of Son Hung agricultural products in the market.

Along with that, the commune focuses on expanding the VAC model combined with family farming, creating a stable source of income for hundreds of households. In addition, activities in small-scale industry and service business have also had many positive changes. Small businesses, shops selling agricultural supplies, mechanical repair, construction, transportation... are increasing in number, creating more jobs and income for people. The commune has planned the central area of ​​the commune to develop services, form new residential areas, creating favorable conditions for households to change their occupations. The whole commune has 12 companies, production and business enterprises, 3 cooperatives, 115 commercial - service and small trading establishments. The companies and businesses have created regular jobs for thousands of workers and contributed positively to the local budget.

In particular, the commune has done well in sustainable poverty reduction through livelihood support models, vocational training, and job creation. Currently, the poverty rate in Son Hung has decreased to 3.7%, and near-poor households to 4.52%.
