“Copilot is an intelligent assistant, a companion that helps me speed up my coding by 30-50%. Its ability to suggest standard code, automate repetitive tasks, and especially its agent mode feature that can analyze the entire project and even fix errors automatically, has truly elevated my programming experience to a new level. In particular, I can interact with GitHub Copilot using natural language, like a real colleague, helping me gain a deeper understanding of the code,” shared Pham Tien Thanh Dat, Project Manager of AMIS OneAI at MISA .
Now, thanks to GitHub Copilot, he has more time to build new functionalities or review and optimize system issues.
MISA, a Vietnamese software company providing a diverse range of digital solutions in areas such as finance, marketing, and human resources to nearly 400,000 corporate clients and 3.5 million individual customers, has deployed GitHub Copilot for 450 programmers. The company has reported that each programmer saves approximately 16 hours per week. For new applications, up to 80% of the code is generated by GitHub Copilot; for existing applications, this figure reaches 30%. As a result, code development time is shortened, and the average productivity of programmers increases by more than 40%, with some individuals even seeing increases of 150% to 200%.
As a result, MISA can develop and deliver software to customers faster. For example, AMIS OneAI – a unified AI platform “Make in Vietnam” developed by MISA for Vietnamese organizations and individuals to access AI practically and at a more reasonable cost – was able to launch its first version in just two weeks instead of one to two months as before.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, MISA's Chief Technology Officer, these changes have also redefined how MISA utilizes its resources: programmers are encouraged to hone their skills in solution-oriented thinking, cloud computing, AI, and teamwork. They are no longer just "code writers" but become influential figures in the product creation process – aligning with the global trend where coders are shifting towards becoming "solution creators."
Pham Tien Thanh Dat also stated: “Instead of just focusing on completing individual tasks or fixing bugs, I can now participate in designing overall solutions, selecting appropriate technologies, and analyzing risks at a macro level. Having an AI assistant has gradually transformed a ‘classic’ programmer like me into a ‘solution creator’.”
Over the next year, MISA plans to deploy GitHub Copilot to all approximately 1,000 programmers across its entire system. MISA also plans to deploy Microsoft 365 solutions to enhance security and protect against data loss for all employees. The goal is not only to optimize operations but also to create a modern, human-centered work environment.
