According to Sportsworld, on August 20th, fans of the girl group NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) reported to HYBE about an anonymous account engaging in terrorist activities targeting NewJeans.
An anonymous account A repeatedly posted messages with the content "I will **** NewJeans" on an online community.
Although the posts have been deleted, traces remain on platforms like Google.
This account also indirectly revealed the location of NewJeans' dorm during a live broadcast, raising concerns about the members' safety. After pinpointing NewJeans' location, A said, "I'll look into it and come back next time."
New Jeans fans took screenshots of the posts in PDF format and sent them to HYBE, New Jeans' agency.
HYBE responded to Sportsworld: “After confirming the information, we notified the police and are doing everything we can to protect the artist.”
This is not the first time a terrorist attack plan targeting New Jeans has been announced. Therefore, stronger measures are needed.
Earlier in June, a terrorist post targeting New Jeans appeared on social media, causing a stir. An image of a Japanese-style knife was posted with the caption: "I'll bring this to the New Jeans concert." Although the image was later confirmed to be just an online advertisement, New Jeans fans were still very worried and reported the incident to the police.
According to Sportsworld, the anonymous terrorist threat messages targeted not only NewJeans but also other celebrities such as Jang Won Young (IVE), Winter (aespa), and IU, causing panic among Kpop fans.
