According to Government Decree No. 168/2024/ND-CP, drivers of automobiles who have drugs in their system will be fined between 30 and 40 million VND and have their driver's license revoked for 22 to 24 months. For motorcycle and scooter drivers, the fine ranges from 6 to 8 million VND if they have drugs in their system or fail to comply with a drug test request from law enforcement officers. In addition to the fine, violators will also have their driver's licenses revoked for 22 to 24 months. |
Driving under the influence of drugs is likened to a "ticking time bomb" on the road. Stimulants impair cognitive abilities, reflexes, and behavioral control, making drivers prone to distraction, hallucinations, or inaccurate handling of situations. This is a potential cause of particularly serious traffic accidents, directly threatening the lives, health, and property of citizens.
Despite public awareness campaigns, warnings, and strict enforcement, a segment of traffic participants still deliberately violate regulations, disregarding the law and the safety risks to the community.

Traffic Police Team No. 2 discovered a group of individuals using drugs while driving.
According to the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, in the coming time, the unit will continue to strengthen its forces and equipment and apply professional measures to patrol and control the entire area; resolutely and strictly handle violations, especially violations related to alcohol and drugs, with the spirit of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions".
The Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police recommends that people strictly abide by the law; absolutely refrain from using drugs and stimulants while participating in traffic to protect their own safety, the safety of their families, and the community.
