At WWDC 2025, Apple officially confirmed that the new version of Siri, deeply integrated with Apple Intelligence, will not be released this year. Instead, the feature may be released in 2026.
In a Bloomberg Power On report on June 12, analyst Mark Gurman revealed that Apple plans to release a comprehensive AI upgrade for its Siri virtual assistant in iOS 26.4, expected to be released in March 2026.
According to Gurman, this Siri upgrade is expected to integrate more deeply with user data and on-screen content, enabling more multi-step and contextual tasks.
"This would turn the virtual assistant into a more conversational and always-on companion device. Apple also has teams working on a chatbot-like app called Knowledge with access to the open web," the Bloomberg writer added.
At WWDC 2024, the iPhone manufacturer confidently showcased Siri with a new interface, boasting the ability to remember conversations and perform complex tasks. However, according to Craig Federighi, Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, version V1 still has many limitations after months of testing and is not yet ready for market release.
The delay in launching the new Siri shows that Apple isn't rushing to chase the AI wave as a mere technology race. Instead, the company is building a long-term, secure, and user-friendly platform.
