The Lunar New Year becomes more meaningful.

Before the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday, Mr. Do Dinh Dao, Principal of Nguyen Huu Tho High School (District 4, Ho Chi Minh City), sent 11 messages to all students in the school.

The Lunar New Year becomes more meaningful.

Accordingly, students need to follow the "5 don'ts," "4 needs," and "2 useful things." First, they must not receive, distribute, view, or share subversive content on social media; they must not engage in excessive behavior leading to fights and injuries; they must not use fireworks; they must not participate in any form of gambling; and they must not violate traffic laws.

Regarding necessary things, students need to be careful when going on trips and vacations with family and friends; ensure food safety during Tet; strengthen disease prevention; and maintain good health during Tet. As for two useful things, students should enjoy the spring festivities but not forget their responsibilities of reviewing their knowledge; and help their families prepare for Tet by cleaning, decorating the house, cooking, and preparing meals for ancestral worship. Especially on the occasion of the New Year, students should not forget to show filial piety and wish their grandparents, parents, relatives, and friends a Happy New Year...

In another approach, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khang, Principal of the Marie Curie School system ( Hanoi ), sent an open letter to all teachers in the school. According to the letter, the head of the school requested that teachers not assign homework to students during the Tet holiday. This endearing request has been consistently implemented by the school for the past 12 years, with the hope of providing students with a comfortable, peaceful, and joyful Tet holiday with their families. The teacher stated that the Tet holiday is not too long, preventing students from forgetting what they have learned. Meanwhile, this is a time for them to rest and reunite with their families, and there shouldn't be any pressure regarding homework.

Furthermore, with the desire for students to become better versions of themselves than they were yesterday, Mr. Do Duc Anh, a Literature teacher at Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), shared this message: "This New Year, be kind to yourselves, always think positively, spread good things, don't dwell on sad or painful things, and live a life of value."

This is also the message that teachers want to send to many generations of students, so that they become useful citizens, developing comprehensively in skills, knowledge, ethics, and lifestyle; contributing to the task of building and developing the country.
