Vibrant cultural and entertainment activities
This year, the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Church within the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee compound (Tran Bien ward) opened its doors to welcome delegations, officials, Party members, and people from all walks of life to offer incense from February 15th to 21st (from the 28th of the 12th lunar month to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year). In 95 communes and wards across the province, many vibrant cultural, artistic, and sporting activities were organized; streets, residential areas, cultural centers, and historical sites were brightly decorated, creating a fresh and festive atmosphere to welcome the spring.
On New Year's Eve, 10 communes and wards, including Tran Bien, Binh Phuoc , Long Khanh, An Loc, Chon Thanh, Long Thanh, Tan Phu, Dai Phuoc, Bu Dang, and Loc Ninh, simultaneously launched fireworks and organized spectacular art programs to welcome the new year. Thousands of residents and tourists gathered along central streets and at the fireworks display points to celebrate the New Year, take photos, and capture the moment.
The Dong Nai Arts Theatre organized dozens of performances for the public in communes and wards, as well as online performances throughout the Tet holiday. A highlight was the New Year's Eve (29th of Tet) art program in Tran Bien ward with the theme "Dong Nai's Aspiration to Rise with the Nation," featuring many artists. On the evenings of February 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, the theatre continued to perform online the program "Spring in the New Era" on its fanpage.
The Dong Nai Cultural and Film Center also staged a special New Year's Eve art program in Binh Phuoc ward with the theme "Dong Nai Shines Brightly in Spring." In addition, the center's seven mobile film screening teams provided services throughout the Tet holiday at various locations, showing films such as: "Red Rain," "Thau Chin in Siam," "The Forest Road," "Do Cranes Return to the South?", "Colorful Marbles," etc., attracting tens of thousands of viewers. Simultaneously, the center organized two exhibitions celebrating the Party and the Spring Festival in Loc Thanh commune and Binh Phuoc ward.

Many exciting sporting events are also taking place at the beginning of spring, such as: the Kickboxing and Traditional Martial Arts Club Championships; the Dong Nai Province Lion and Dragon Dance Festival celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. On February 28th (the 12th day of the first lunar month), the Dong Nai Province Open Boat Race will be held in the Dong Nai River area in front of Tan Lan communal house (Tran Bien ward). This is a traditional event maintained annually, attracting many boat teams from within and outside the province.
Cinemas throughout the province, such as Lotte Cinema (Lotte Mart Bien Hoa, Vincom Plaza Bien Hoa), CGV Bien Hoa (Co.opmart, Big C Dong Nai), Beta Cinema Bien Hoa (The Pegasus Plaza), Beta Long Khanh, and EVG Dong Xoai Cinema, are also showing many new films to entertain audiences during the Tet holiday.
At the Dong Nai Library (facility 1 in Tan Trieu ward, facility 2 in Binh Phuoc ward), the Binh Ngo 2026 Spring Newspaper Fair took place. The Dong Nai Museum (Tan Trieu ward) organized an exhibition of Vietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year) miniature scenes from February 5th to February 22nd, attracting many locals and tourists to visit and take souvenir photos.
At historical sites such as Tran Bien Temple of Literature, Tan Lan communal house, Dai Giac pagoda, and the S'tieng ethnic cultural conservation area in Bom Bo village, many locals and tourists visited and offered incense in a solemn and orderly atmosphere. The sites strictly adhered to fire safety regulations; no burning of votive paper occurred, and there was no overcrowding, ensuring activities were in accordance with traditional customs. This created a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere, contributing to encouraging officials, Party members, and the people to enter the new year with renewed determination and expectations.
The number of visitors and shoppers has increased significantly.
According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026, Dong Nai province is expected to welcome approximately 220,000 tourists, a 12% increase compared to the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday. Of these, about 2,000 will be international tourists. Total tourism revenue is projected to reach approximately 153 billion VND, an 18% increase compared to the 2025 Lunar New Year. Several tourist destinations are expected to see significant increases in visitor numbers, including: Suoi Mo Tourist Area in Tan Phu commune (over 32,000 visitors); Son Tien Tourist Area in Long Hung ward (approximately 30,000 visitors); Chua Chan Mountain scenic site (Xuan Loc commune) (approximately 25,000 visitors); and Buu Long Tourist Area (Tran Bien ward) (over 20,000 visitors). Many tourist areas and attractions welcomed between 2,000 and 6,000 visitors during the Tet holiday, such as: Cat Tien National Park and its golf course system, which received approximately 6,000 visitors per location; Bu Lach Grassland (Tho Son commune), which received about 5,000 visitors; Qua Dieu Vang tourist site (Dong Tam commune), which received about 4,200 visitors; and Ta Thiet historical site (Loc Thanh commune), which received about 3,000 visitors...

During the Tet holiday, basic accommodation prices remained stable. Average occupancy rates reached approximately 35-40%. Tourism activities in Dong Nai province were vibrant, safe, and stable. Measures to ensure security and safety for tourists were effectively implemented, with no instances of sudden price increases recorded.
Representatives from many supermarkets and shopping malls in Dong Nai province said that during the recent Lunar New Year holiday, the number of visitors increased by 10-15% compared to the same period last year. Shopping malls and supermarkets proactively secured goods, extended opening hours, and increased staff and checkout counters to serve consumers during the Tet holiday. They also continued to implement many major promotional programs to stimulate consumer spending. As of February 22nd (the 6th day of Tet), supermarkets and shopping malls in the province had resumed normal operations and implemented many post-Tet promotional programs to boost shopping and consumption. (Director of GO! supermarket) According to Le Van Hong from Long Hung ward, Dong Nai province: During the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, the number of customers visiting the supermarket increased by about 10% compared to the same period in 2025. In particular, on peak days before Tet, the supermarket welcomed approximately 10-12 thousand customers each day. The supermarket reopened on the morning of the second day of Tet (February 18th). From the third day of Tet (February 19th), the supermarket operated according to normal hours from 8 am to 10 pm daily. Since reopening after Tet, the supermarket has welcomed an average of about 6,000 customers per day for sightseeing, dining, and shopping.
Ensuring security and order
During the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026, security and order in Dong Nai province were generally ensured. People's recreational activities, spring outings, and travel throughout the province took place safely.

According to information from the Provincial Police, during the Lunar New Year holiday of 2026, professional units and police forces in communes and wards throughout the province deployed all their personnel and were on duty to carry out their tasks. Specifically, at political events, entertainment venues, shopping areas, and tourist spots where large crowds gathered, professional forces were deployed to ensure security and order.
Just before the New Year's Eve celebration (February 16th), hundreds of officers and soldiers from the Mobile Police Force were present at their assigned locations, coordinating with professional units of the Provincial Police, the Provincial Military Command, the police and military of wards and communes, forces participating in maintaining security and order at the grassroots level, and the militia to simultaneously implement plans to ensure the safety of the fireworks display locations. Thanks to proactive planning and coordinated operations between the forces, security and order at these locations were maintained; the New Year's Eve fireworks displays were absolutely secure and safe.
In the fight against and prevention of various types of crimes and violations of the law, the provincial police force and local police forces have promptly detected and handled many cases and related individuals.
