At the shooting range, Private Pham Duc Phuong, a soldier from Squad 3, Platoon 1, Company 1, performed the first AK rifle shooting exercise. Before the test, Phuong and his comrades had undergone numerous training sessions on prone, kneeling, and standing shooting positions, as well as aiming, trigger control, and maintaining rifle stability. For the combatants, this is not an easy exercise, especially when shooting at concealed or visible targets during the day, requiring calmness and precise maneuvering.
“In the early days of handling a rifle, my hands often trembled, and even after aiming for a long time, I still missed the target. The training officers were always there to encourage me, showing me how to stay calm and how to achieve a more stable aiming line. After each training session, I was given an analysis of my mistakes so I could gradually correct them. When I went into the inspection, I was still a little nervous, but I was more confident because I had practiced so many times,” Private Pham Duc Phuong shared.

At the explosives inspection site, Private Nguyen Thanh Dat, a soldier from Company 9, Platoon 9, Company 3, said that he was initially quite worried because this task requires a high degree of precision. From the process of packaging and securing the explosives, attaching the caps, using the detonating devices, to moving into position, everything must be done according to procedure.
“When I first started learning about explosives, my biggest fear was making mistakes. Once, I didn't wrap the explosives properly, and the instructor made me unwrap it and start over. After that, I understood that this part couldn't be taken lightly; each step had to be done correctly. Before the inspection, the instructors kept reminding us to carefully check the materials, listen carefully to the commands, and absolutely not rush. Thanks to that, I was calmer during the practical session and was able to complete my task,” Dat said.
According to the plan, the 244th Regiment organized a "three-explosive" test over six days, covering AK rifle shooting, explosives, and grenades. The test was conducted seriously and according to plan, ensuring sufficient content, time, and personnel participation. The results showed that in the AK rifle shooting exercise (lesson 1, shooting at concealed and visible targets during the day), 52 soldiers achieved excellent results, 114 achieved good results, and 107 met the requirements; the unit achieved a good rating. In the explosives technique exercise (lesson 1), 254 soldiers achieved excellent results, 53 achieved good results; the unit achieved an excellent rating. In the grenade throwing accuracy exercise, 179 soldiers achieved excellent results, 67 achieved good results; the unit achieved an excellent rating. The entire unit completed 100% of the training completion test program for new recruits, ensuring absolute safety.

Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Kien, Commander of Regiment 244, stated: "The 'three explosions' test is an important part of evaluating the training results of the new recruits. The test showed that most soldiers have grasped the basic movements, strictly adhered to field regulations, and remained calm when practicing shooting, grenade throwing, and explosive handling. The results achieved are the product of the efforts of both training officers and new recruits throughout this period."
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Kien, in addition to the achievements, the Regiment will continue to learn from its shortcomings, especially in shooting, in order to implement more appropriate training methods in the future. The unit will continue to maintain regular discipline, manage regulations effectively, and do a good job of political and ideological education, helping new recruits settle into the organization and be ready to enter the next training phase.
For the new recruits, this inspection marks a significant milestone after nearly three months of enlistment. From initially feeling unfamiliar with the military environment, many have shown remarkable progress in their demeanor, discipline, and ability to perform infantry combat techniques. The results of the "three explosions" inspection not only assess the quality of training at Regiment 244 but also contribute to building greater confidence among the new recruits in their future training, studies, and mission assignments.
