Nghe An solemnly held the opening ceremony of the 2024 Lotus Village Festival.

The 2024 Sen Village Festival was organized to commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh , and at the same time to introduce and promote the culture of Sen Village, Nghe An province, to domestic and international tourists.

Every May, when the lotus flowers are in full bloom, in Nam Dan district, every citizen respectfully remembers and expresses boundless gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - the national liberation hero, a world cultural figure, and the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people.

On the evening of May 11th, at the Lang Sen Stadium in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Lang Sen Festival and the art program "The Sun in the Vietnamese Sky" was solemnly held to commemorate the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024), the 55th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's last letter to the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee (July 21, 1969 - July 21, 2024), and the 55th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament (1969-2024).

Attending the program were General To Lam, Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and Major General Phan Van Sy, Deputy Head of Political Affairs of Military Region IV.

Representing Nghe An province were Mr. Thai Thanh Quy, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. Also present were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province; and leaders of the Fatherland Front, various departments, agencies, and mass organizations of Nghe An province.

Representatives from the Ha, Hoang Xuan, and Nguyen Sinh clans in Nam Dan, along with a large number of local people, attended the program.

Nghe An – a land of "spiritual and talented people," with a rich tradition of history, culture, patriotism, and revolution. The people of Nghe An are always proud that throughout the long history of the nation, every era has produced heroes, outstanding figures, famous generals, and distinguished individuals who have made glorious contributions to their homeland. They are even more proud that Nghe An is the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the annual Lang Sen Festival has become an important political and cultural event, through which each person can gain a deeper understanding of the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, contributing to further promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, fostering patriotic traditions, remembering the source of one's blessings, and building national unity for the cause of a prosperous people, a strong nation, and a democratic, just, and civilized society.

This year marks the 55th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's last letter to the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, and the 55th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Last Will and Testament. In his letter, "What We Must Do in the Coming Time," President Ho Chi Minh outlined four key points, expressing his fervent hope that "the people and comrades of the province will strive to make Nghe An one of the most prosperous provinces in the North."

Uncle Ho's teachings serve as a guiding principle, a source of motivation, and a tremendous source of strength for the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghe An to uphold the revolutionary spirit, concentrate resources, overcome difficulties and challenges, and successfully fulfill his wishes, so as to soon make Nghe An a prosperous province in the North and the whole country.

This year's Sen Village Festival attracted a large number of local people and tourists from all over. The program aimed to commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, and to introduce and promote the culture of Sen Village and Nghe An province to domestic and international visitors.

The event featured a wide variety of cultural, artistic, and sporting activities, most notably: the Lotus Village Singing Festival with the participation of over 600 artisans and performers from 20 amateur art troupes from districts and cities; the provincial volleyball and traditional martial arts tournament; and folk games associated with President Ho Chi Minh's childhood activities in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district.

Alongside this, there will be a street performance program with the theme "Homeland in the Season of Lotus Blossoms," a photo exhibition "Nghe An Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" and "Ho Chi Minh - He is the Unwavering Faith in Victory" at Ho Chi Minh Square. In addition, there will be the "Journey to Lotus Village" marathon - a prominent sporting event with over 3,000 athletes from Vietnam and abroad participating.

Notably, this year's festival features artistic performances, military music, and cavalry displays, with the participation of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Ceremonial Brass Band, and the Cavalry Team of the Ministry of Public Security.

The 2024 Lotus Village Festival, taking place from May 11-19, is an opportunity to promote the culture of Nghe An province, showcasing the dynamic and friendly people and land of Nghe An, who are always open to opportunities for cooperation and development.
