Journalism - a profession to love.

BPO - My initial career choice in my entrepreneurial journey wasn't journalism. I had pursued a career in the arts, a world full of melodies, conventions, and emotions. But life always presents unexpected opportunities, leading us down seemingly unfamiliar paths. And then, I came to radio and television – a completely new path, a decision I never expected.

I never received any formal training in journalism or broadcasting. When I first started in this new environment, I was assigned to be an arts and culture editor, a challenging job in a completely different context. Feeling bewildered and awkward was inevitable.

However, it was during this "learning by doing" journey that I received dedicated guidance and instruction from colleagues on broadcasting and television techniques. Perhaps, like people, you know who to work with when the job is right. Gradually, I adapted to the work and felt myself growing day by day in this new environment.

Reporter Pham Tang filmed scenes for the music video "Love on the Border" in January 2012, with the script written by musician Duc Hoa.

Time flies so fast that I suddenly realize I've become involved in journalism without even knowing it. I'm passionate about the job, loving every news report, every word, every sound conveyed to the audience. And then, I understood that I had found another profession to love: journalism.

Looking back on my journey of over 20 years in journalism, I increasingly realize that it's not just a job, but also a place where I've learned to live a more dynamic, creative life and constantly reinvent myself.

Journalism has given me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge, access diverse sources of information, and stay updated on new trends in society. It's not just a job of conveying information, but also a mission – to contribute, to critique, to fight against evil and negativity, and to spread goodness and humanity in life.

I am proud that journalists have contributed to truthfully reflecting the pressing events of society, from natural disasters and epidemics to important developments in the country. In those moments, we journalists are always present in a timely manner to inform the people truthfully and quickly. Through this, I secretly think that journalism is a glorious, pioneering, and humane profession.

Even during the war years, journalists braved danger, venturing into the battlefield to report victories and convey authentic images from the front lines to the rear; simultaneously preserving precious moments and memories from the nation's long resistance struggle.

Composer Duc Hoa is always secretly grateful for the turning point that led him to BPTV.

As the country entered a period of peace , reconstruction, and development, the team of journalists continued the glorious tradition of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism. Many major cases, negative incidents, and corruption cases were uncovered and brought to light thanks to the strong and courageous involvement of journalists.

The history of Vietnamese journalism is proud to have leader Nguyen Ai Quoc – the founder of the Thanh Nien (Youth) newspaper on June 21, 1925, in Guangzhou, China. From that milestone, the revolutionary press of Vietnam was officially born. Later, many high-ranking leaders of the Party and State were also journalists, with strategic writings that contributed to guiding the country through each stage of development.

For me personally, my contributions to journalism and my shared home, BPTV, may be modest, but I am always secretly grateful for the turning point in my life that led me to BPTV. During my 22 years with BPTV, from a quiet person accustomed to behind-the-scenes work, I have become more dynamic, confident, and capable thanks to journalism. Journalism has not only given me work and new relationships but also a new life – a journey of growth and dedication. And naturally: I love journalism.
