Journalism - a profession to love

BPO - My initial choice in my entrepreneurial journey was not journalism. I used to pursue an artistic path, a world full of melodies, conventions and emotions. But in life, there are always unexpected opportunities that lead us to seemingly unfamiliar paths. And then, I came to radio and television - a completely new path, a decision that even I did not expect.

I have never attended any formal training course in journalism or broadcasting. In the first days of entering the new environment, I was assigned to be a literary editor, this was a challenging job in a completely different context. The confusion and awkwardness were inevitable.

However, it was during that journey of “learning while working” that I was enthusiastically guided and taught by my colleagues about radio and television broadcasting. Perhaps, the profession is like a person, knowing who to choose to accompany me. Gradually, I got into the rhythm of the job, and I found myself growing up every day in the new environment.

Reporter Pham Tang filmed scenes in the musical film "Love on the Border" in January 2012, with musician Duc Hoa in charge of the script.

Time flies so fast that sometimes I suddenly realize: I have been attached to journalism without knowing it. I am passionate about my work, love every news, every word, every sound transmitted to the audience. And then, I understand that I have another job to love, which is journalism.

Looking back on my journey of more than 20 years, I realize more clearly that journalism is not just a job, but also a place where I learned how to live more dynamically, more creatively and always renew myself.

Journalism gives me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge, access multi-dimensional sources of information, and update new trends in society. It is not only a job of transmitting information, but also a mission - to contribute, to debate, to fight against evil, negativity and to spread good and humane things in life.

I am proud that journalists have contributed to truthfully reflecting hot social events, from natural disasters, epidemics to important movements of the country. In those moments, we journalists are always present in time to inform the people honestly and quickly. Through that, I secretly think that journalism is a glorious, pioneering and humane profession.

Since the time when the country was still in the midst of war, journalists have not been afraid of danger, rushing to the battlefield, reporting on victories, conveying authentic images from the front line to the rear; at the same time preserving precious moments and memories in the nation's long resistance war.

Musician Duc Hoa always silently thanks the turn that led him to BPTV.

When the country entered a period of peace , construction and development, the team of journalists continued the glorious tradition of Vietnam's revolutionary press. Many major, negative and corrupt cases were discovered and brought to light thanks to the strong and brave participation of journalists.

The history of Vietnamese journalism is proud to have leader Nguyen Ai Quoc - who founded Thanh Nien newspaper on June 21, 1925 in Guangzhou, China. From that milestone, the Vietnamese revolutionary press was officially born. Later, many high-ranking leaders of the Party and State were also journalists, with strategic articles, contributing to leading the country through each stage of development.

For me personally, although my contributions to journalism and the common home of BPTV are modest, I always silently thank the turning point of life that led me to BPTV. During the 22 years of working with BPTV, from a quiet person, accustomed to behind-the-scenes work, I have become more active, confident, and courageous thanks to journalism. Journalism not only gave me a job and new relationships, but also gave me a new life - a journey of maturity and dedication. And naturally: I love journalism very much.
