Embroidery in Thuong Nong

After the merger, Thuong Nong commune comprises two communes: Thuong Nong and Thuong Giap. The traditional embroidery craft of the Red Dao people is still preserved here, mainly in Thom Luong village and partly in Dong Da village. For generations, the Dao people have cherished embroidery as a precious treasure. Each garment is meticulously hand-embroidered, requiring patience and skill in every stitch. Before getting married, girls often stay home to focus on embroidery and sewing, completing their own unique outfits.

The Thom Luong Village Brocade Embroidery Club was established in September 2022 and now has over 30 members.

Those nimble hands moved swiftly with needles and threads of various colors.

The main products are patterns used on clothing.
