The charitable kitchen at Binh Phuoc Provincial General Hospital was established in 2001, initially with only 50 volunteers. Under the leadership of Mr. Ho Van Nhat, the kitchen has grown, attracting more than 200 members. Every day, he and the members prepare nutritious meals and deliver them directly to patients in difficult circumstances and their families. "I hope the kitchen will last a long time, with the fire burning every day to help those in need," Mr. Nhat shared.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu, a patient receiving treatment at the provincial general hospital, shared: “I have been receiving meals here for several days now. I find the food very delicious, and the volunteers are very enthusiastic in helping the patients. I am very grateful!”

What is most touching about Mr. Ho Van Nhat is his compassionate heart and deep empathy for those in difficult circumstances. He not only provides meals but also listens, shares, and encourages patients and their families, helping them alleviate their pain and giving them the motivation to overcome their illnesses. He has become a friend, a family member, and a strong source of emotional support for them.

Nguyen Cong Danh, a volunteer at the soup kitchen, shared: "Mr. Nhat is very dedicated and always gives his all to the soup kitchen. Mr. Nhat is a great inspiration to me. Participating in volunteer activities makes me feel that life is more meaningful."

Mr. Nhat's journey is not only a story of compassion but also a testament to the power of dedication. At the age of 80, he continues to tirelessly engage in charitable work, undeterred by difficulties and hardships. He has inspired many, proving that age is not a barrier to doing good for the world.

Mr. Ho Van Nhat is one of 50 outstanding citizens recently honored at the ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the province's liberation, serving as a shining example of compassion and dedication.

For his quiet contributions, Mr. Nhat was recently honored as one of the 50 outstanding citizens of the province, receiving numerous commendations and certificates of merit, and attending the National Emulation Congress four times. In 2006, he received a commendation from the Prime Minister . But perhaps for him, the greatest reward is the smiles and sincere thanks from those he has helped. Mr. Ho Van Nhat deserves to be recognized as an outstanding citizen of Binh Phuoc, a person who spreads the "flame" of compassion, igniting faith and hope for many. His story is a profound reminder of the value of human kindness and sharing in life.
