To commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, many outstanding Youth Union officials in the capital city are increasingly affirming the pioneering and creative role of young people in the cause of building and developing the locality.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh Lan, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Oai commune, Secretary of the Thanh Oai Commune Youth Union ( Hanoi ), is one of the Youth Union officials who has grown from the grassroots, possessing rich practical experience, always pioneering innovation in working methods and creating a clear mark in Youth Union work and youth movements in the locality, with a 16-year journey of persistent dedication and contribution.

Comrade Thanh Lan's journey is the result of persistent accumulation of practical experience at the grassroots level. From her time as a student at Thanh Oai A High School, where she served as class president and a member of the school's Youth Union Executive Committee, to her years as secretary of the university's Youth Union branch, secretary of the village's Youth Union branch, then Deputy Secretary of the former Thanh Oai District Youth Union, and now as Secretary of the commune's Youth Union, in each position, she has demonstrated a sense of responsibility, initiative, and always linked Youth Union activities to the practical needs of young people.

Not only is he an organizer of activities, but he is also a companion to the youth union members in both their work and daily lives. From guiding their studies and careers, supporting young people in starting businesses, to listening to and sharing their difficulties and problems, he is always there promptly, sincerely, and responsibly. This closeness has created trust and a strong bond, enabling each union member not only to participate in the movement but also to proactively contribute and dedicate themselves.

Having risen through the ranks and gained a deep understanding of youth through practical experience, he has developed a flexible and thorough working style, knowing how to inspire and empower young people in each specific task, thereby creating a sustainable ripple effect for the movement.

Make your mark through practical projects.

In Thanh Oai, Youth Union activities are increasingly being implemented in depth, closely linked to practical needs. Many practical youth projects and initiatives have been carried out, such as: children's playgrounds, "Youth Bookcases," digital libraries, flower-lined and mural-painted streets, solar-powered lighting, health check-ups, and medicine distribution for the people. In particular, the "Community Digital Activity Point" model has promoted the role of Youth Union members as "digital assistants," supporting people in accessing online public services.

In her work caring for and educating children, Comrade Lan has implemented many creative activities such as the mock trial "Drugs - A Lesson from a Mistake," the Children's Song Festival, summer activities, Mid-Autumn Festival, and the "Children's Fun and Healthy Day - Advancing Towards the Youth Union" event, contributing to creating a comprehensive and healthy educational environment for children.

For her outstanding contributions, Nguyen Thi Thanh Lan was honored with 2 Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee, 8 Certificates of Merit from the city level, and was also one of 95 outstanding Youth Union officials citywide to be commended on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Notably, from the age of 23, while serving as the Youth Union Secretary of the village, he was trusted and elected as a representative to the Thanh Oai Commune People's Council. To date, he continues to be trusted by voters and elected as a representative to the Thanh Oai Commune People's Council, second term, affirming his prestige, competence, and maturity gained from practical experience at the grassroots level.

Sharing her thoughts on the achievements, Comrade Lan said: “I always consider these not as individual accomplishments, but as the result of the collective efforts of the Youth Union officials and members. Every achievement is the culmination of the responsibility and enthusiasm of young people.”

Beyond demonstrating consistent viewpoints in her work, Comrade Lan also built and led the team – emphasizing cohesion and promoting the role of each member in specific tasks. She is the image of a simple, dedicated Youth Union official, always giving her all to her work, embodying the pioneering and proactive spirit of youth.

Unleashing the role of youth in the new development phase.

In response to the demands of development in the new phase, when the locality is facing many intertwined opportunities and challenges, the role of Thanh Oai's youth continues to be placed on higher demands: not only being at the forefront of movements, but also proactively participating in the implementation of political tasks and accompanying the overall development of the locality.

In this context, as the Secretary of the Youth Union of the commune, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh Lan is determined to continue promoting the core role of the Youth Union in gathering and uniting young people; to awaken the spirit of responsibility, the will to strive, and the aspiration to contribute among young people. The focus is on accompanying the government in promoting digital transformation, promoting the role of youth in supporting people to access online public services, and building a digital government from the grassroots level.

At the same time, the Youth Union will actively participate in disseminating information and mobilizing its members, young people, and the public in the implementation of key national projects in the area, especially the Olympic Sports Urban Area Project, contributing to creating public consensus in land clearance work and accelerating the implementation progress.

Sharing her future plans, Comrade Lan stated: “As the leader of the Youth Union at the commune level, I will continue to innovate the content and methods of activities; promote the role of young people in digital transformation, entrepreneurship, career development, and participation in socio-economic development tasks of the locality, contributing to building Thanh Oai commune into a rapidly and sustainably developing area.”
