Mr. Trieu Phuc Vay boldly built a cinnamon purchasing and processing factory in the local area, thus increasing the value of cinnamon trees.

After researching and learning from various sources, in 2018, Mr. Vay discussed with several households in the village and invested over 2 billion VND to build a factory and establish the Nam Det Organic Cinnamon Cooperative. Taking the lead in purchasing raw materials and processing them into various products such as cinnamon sticks, cinnamon chips, cinnamon essential oil, etc., the value of cinnamon in the locality has significantly increased. Mr. Trieu Phuc Vay, Director of the Nam Det Organic Cinnamon Cooperative in Bac Ha district, shared: "We established a cooperative to purchase and process the cinnamon here. Before the cooperative, the price of fresh cinnamon was 20,000 VND/kg, but after the cooperative was established, it went up to 27,000 - 28,000 VND/kg."

Initially, the cooperative had only 6 members, with a total linked cinnamon area of over 120 hectares. Later, as the value of the crop increased, the cooperative expanded its linkages, building a raw material area of nearly 1,800 hectares, purchasing 200-300 tons of cinnamon bark annually, creating jobs for 25 local workers. Mr. Ly A Lu, from Nam Det village, Nam Det commune, Bac Ha district, shared: "Before the cooperative, income was low, but now with the cooperative, cinnamon sells better than before, and processing here is more efficient."

Thanks to cinnamon cultivation, many families in the commune have achieved economic stability, contributing to the development of the village and commune.

Along with purchasing and processing, the cooperative also supports and guides farmers in planting and caring for cinnamon trees organically to enhance product value. Currently, all cinnamon products from the cooperative, owned by Mr. Vay, have been recognized as OCOP 3-star, generating profits of 300-400 million VND per year. Mr. Trieu Phuc Vay, Director of the Organic Cinnamon Cooperative in Nam Det commune, Bac Ha district, shared: "Having a production and processing facility here, without having to transport goods far away, results in a very high profit margin. For example, fresh cinnamon sells for about 2,000-3,000 VND/kg, with hundreds of tons produced annually, bringing in tens of billions of VND in profit for the farmers."

The right direction, along with the efforts and creativity of Mr. Trieu Phuc Vay, has contributed to enhancing the value of key crops in the area, ensuring sustainable production goals.
