Nguyen Huy Hoang won the bronze medal.

Swimming Medal

Nguyen Huy Hoang finished third in the men's 800m freestyle final with a time of 7 minutes 51.44 seconds, winning the bronze medal. The gold and silver medals in this event went to Kim Woo-min (South Korea) and Fei Liwei (China), respectively.

The South Korean athlete broke the ASIAD record with a time of 7 minutes and 46.03 seconds.

HCB TDDC

Nguyen Van Khanh Phong won the silver medal in the rings event. The Vietnamese athlete scored 14.6 points, second only to the host country's representative, Lan Xingyu. The Chinese athlete dominated the rest with 15.433 points.

The Vietnamese sports delegation won another silver medal in gymnastics.

Football

The Vietnamese women's team lost 0-7 to Japan in their final match, finishing second in the group. Due to a very low goal difference, coach Mai Duc Chung's team faced the risk of elimination. Vietnam would only advance to the quarterfinals if the Philippines drew with Myanmar or if the match between China and Uzbekistan had a margin of more than 11 goals.

Tran Mai Ngoc and Nguyen Thi Nga lost to the Indian team in the round of 16 of the women's doubles table tennis event.

Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien finished 5th in the pommel horse final of gymnastics with a score of 14.766.

Boxing

Nguyen Minh Cuong was eliminated after losing to Zhang Jiamao (China). The boxing team still has Ha Thi Linh and Bui Phuoc Tung competing tonight.

Esports

The Vietnamese team defeated Kyrgyzstan, advancing to the semi-finals of the Dream Three Kingdoms 2 event. The League of Legends team lost to Taiwan (China) in the semi-finals and will play against China in the bronze medal match.

Pham Quang Huy was awarded nearly 800 million VND.

The Department of Sports and Physical Education awarded 400 million VND for each gold medal won at ASIAD 19. In addition, Pham Quang Huy also received 100 million VND in prize money from the National Sports Training Center. The Vietnam Shooting Federation also awarded Pham Quang Huy an additional 100 million VND.

According to state regulations, athletes who win a gold medal at the Asian Games are rewarded 140 million VND. Therefore, Phạm Quang Huy's achievement of winning the gold medal today (September 28th) alone brings him 740 million VND.

Not only that, just a few hours before winning the gold medal in the men's 10m air pistol individual event, the shooter born in 1996, along with his teammates Lai Cong Minh and Phan Cong Minh, won a bronze medal in the team event and were awarded 55 million VND.

Ping pong

Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh and Nguyen Thi Nga were eliminated in the women's singles event. Doan Ba Tuan Anh and Nguyen Anh Tu won against the Macao (China) team, while Dinh Anh Hoang and Le Dinh Duc lost to the Taiwan (China) team in the men's doubles event.

Vietnamese athletes will also compete in the mixed doubles and men's singles events this afternoon and evening.

Gold medal in shooting

Pham Quang Huy defeated Lee Won-ho in the final knockout round. The Vietnamese shooter won the gold medal.

The shooting team successfully completed its mission, winning the gold medal at ASIAD 19. This is the first gold medal for the Vietnamese delegation at the Games.

In the final, the athlete born in 1996 only finished fourth in the first knockout round. However, by the end of the fourth round, Pham Quang Huy had taken the lead with 160.8 points and maintained that position.

After eliminating all other competitors, the gold medal was a contest between Pham Quang Huy and Lee Won-ho (South Korea). The Vietnamese shooter won with a margin of 1.1 points over his opponent.

Shooting

Pham Quang Huy is certain to win a medal in the men's 10m air pistol individual event. The Vietnamese shooter will be competing against Lee Won-ho (South Korea) and Svechnikov Vladimir (Uzbekistan).

Swim

Pham Thi Van and Nguyen Hoang Khang failed to qualify for the men's and women's 50m butterfly events.

Pham Thanh Bao unfortunately missed out on a spot in the final, finishing 9th in the qualifying round, just under half a second behind the 8th-placed athlete.

The men's 4x100m freestyle relay team was also eliminated. Therefore, only Nguyen Huy Hoang will compete in the swimming final tonight.

HCĐ shooting

The Vietnamese team, consisting of Lai Cong Minh, Phan Cong Minh, and Pham Quang Huy, finished third in the men's 10m air pistol team event.

However, in the individual event, only Pham Quang Huy made it to the top 8 finalists. This shooter finished fourth in the qualifying round.

Fencing

The Vietnamese team, consisting of Nguyen Van Quyet, Vu Thanh An, and Nguyen Xuan Loi, lost to Uzbekistan in the qualifying match.

Today, the Vietnamese sports delegation welcomed 51 more members to China. The archery, volleyball, and sepak takraw teams arrived in Hangzhou to prepare for competitions in the coming days.

Meanwhile, fencing, judo, and esports athletes returned home today after completing their missions.
