The most upscale dimsum restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City has unexpectedly closed down.

After more than two decades of operation in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, Crystal Jade Palace restaurant unexpectedly announced its closure, prompting many diners to express their regret on food forums.

Crystal Jade Palace restaurant is located on Ton Duc Thang Street, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Crystal Jade Palace restaurant has announced it will cease operations at its Ton Duc Thang Street location, inside the LOTTE Saigon Hotel (formerly District 1, now Saigon Ward), after more than 20 years in Ho Chi Minh City.

A representative from the restaurant stated that the closure marks the end of "a memorable journey," and also expresses gratitude to customers who have been a part of their lives during gatherings, intimate parties, and special occasions over the years.

The restaurant stated that, as of the announcement on May 16th, the establishment has officially ceased operations and is no longer serving customers. Therefore, currently, Crystal Jade Palace restaurant on Ly Nam De Street ( Hanoi ) is the only remaining open restaurant in Vietnam.

Following this news, many diners expressed their regret on food-related social media groups. Many said that this used to be a familiar place to enjoy dim sum and other Chinese dishes in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.

Crystal Jade Palace is a brand belonging to the Crystal Jade system, a Chinese culinary group established in Singapore in 1991. The brand is built on a foundation of traditional Cantonese cuisine and currently owns over 100 restaurants globally with various service models. According to the travel platform Tripadvisor, the chain has received a Michelin star and is featured on both the Bib Gourmand and Michelin Recommendation Lists.

The brand has been present in Vietnam since 2001, with its first restaurant located inside the 5-star Legend Saigon Hotel, now LOTTE Saigon. In 2024, the restaurant expanded its operations to Hanoi. For many years, it has been considered a familiar meeting place for businesspeople, artists, and diners who appreciate high-end Chinese cuisine.

Belonging to the high-end restaurant segment, the branches boast prime locations and luxurious, sophisticated spaces, allowing diners to relax and enjoy their meals. The menu is noteworthy for its diverse Cantonese offerings, including dim sum, Peking duck, roasted pigeon, scallop fried rice, wonton noodles, lobster, abalone, and dishes featuring truffle mushrooms.
