On the morning of June 15, a representative of the Vietnam Education Publishing House said that the publishing house has completed the price declaration with the Ministry of Finance for the two book sets Connecting Knowledge with Life and Creative Horizons for grades 4, 8, and 11.

The selling price of textbooks under the new general education program is newly declared, not increased. "Comparing the prices of textbooks under the new program with textbooks under the old program is not similar, because the compilation and publication of a new set of books has fundamental differences compared to the previous set of books," said this leader.

In 2023, input costs (materials, printing costs) increased, but Vietnam Education Publishing House still reduced production costs, thereby reducing the selling price of textbooks for grades 4, 8, and 11.

"The textbooks of the Vietnam Education Publishing House are currently at the lowest price among the textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education and Training . For example, the Connecting Knowledge with Life set has a price 22-26% lower than the prices of other publishers," the representative cited.

Vietnam Education Publishing House also reduced the publishing fee so that the price of books for grades 4, 8, and 11 is lower than last year. The publishing fee includes transportation, warehouse, and labor costs... As evidence, the price of books for grades 4, 8, and 11 is 4-6% lower than that of books for grades 3, 7, and 10.

In the 2023-2024 school year, Vietnam Education Publishing House continues to implement the program of supporting textbooks for children in difficult circumstances, donating books to school libraries nationwide and giving scholarships to students.

According to the decision of the Minister of Education and Training, the list of new textbooks to be used in schools from 2023 - 2024 according to the new general education program in grades 4, 8, and 11 includes: Canh Dieu, Connecting Knowledge with Life, and Creative Horizon. These three sets of books belong to the publishers: Vietnam Education Investment and Publishing Joint Stock Company (VEPIC), Vietnam Education Publishing House.

Among the three approved book sets, the Kite set of the Vietnam Education Investment and Publishing Joint Stock Company (VEPIC) has the highest price. Meanwhile, the Creative Horizon and Connecting Knowledge with Life book sets of the Vietnam Education Publishing House are cheaper by 30,000 - 100,000 VND/set.

Currently, only the Vietnam Education Publishing House has announced the books and prices of English textbooks for grades 4, 8, and 11, while the Vietnam Education Publishing and Investment Joint Stock Company (VEPIC) - Canh Dieu group has not announced English books as required.
