Correct awareness, high responsibility.

In the vibrant atmosphere leading up to the great national event, Regiment 43, Division 395, Military Region 3 has been stepping up propaganda and educational activities to raise awareness and responsibility among officers and soldiers regarding the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

The end of the afternoon training session coincided with the broadcast of the 43rd Regiment's internal loudspeaker system, airing a "Q&A about the Election" segment. The questions were logically arranged and accompanied by concise, easy-to-understand answers, set to the music of songs like "Let's Go Vote," "National Election Day," etc. This not only created a cheerful and relaxing atmosphere after a strenuous training day but also contributed to raising awareness and understanding among officers and soldiers about the upcoming election.

Captain Le Ba Nam, Assistant Propaganda Officer of the Political Department of Regiment 43, who is directly in charge of the program, said: “Based on the Law on Election of National Assembly and People's Council Representatives, along with leadership, guidance, and instruction documents from higher levels, we have developed 50 concise questions about election work to be broadcast daily in the program. The program is broadcast at the beginning of the morning and the end of the afternoon when the number of personnel gathered at the unit is highest. In addition, the program is also copied and replayed by units for officers and soldiers to listen to during breaks while studying outside the training ground.”

Soldiers of the 43rd Regiment, 395th Division, Military Region 3, study the list of candidates.

Visiting the Regiment, we clearly felt the joyful and vibrant atmosphere of the upcoming national election. Throughout the internal roads, residential areas, mess halls, offices, and the Ho Chi Minh Room, the system of banners, posters, and slogans promoting the election was prominently displayed, creating a vivid visual highlight. Particularly noteworthy was the Regiment's assembly hall, where the election activities would take place, adorned with flags and flowers, and the lists of candidates and voters were prominently displayed, easily accessible for officers and soldiers to view and understand.

Lieutenant Colonel Dong Van Vinh, Head of Political Affairs of Regiment 43, said: "With full troop strength and most non-commissioned officers and soldiers participating in elections for the first time, we have identified election propaganda and education as a crucial and ongoing political task at this time. Units have effectively utilized the role of their officers, especially political officers at all levels, implementing diverse forms of propaganda, combining general education with specific education tailored to each target group. This helps officers and soldiers understand the particularly important political significance of the election, and correctly recognize their rights, duties, and responsibilities as citizens, thereby promoting democracy and actively and voluntarily participating in elections in accordance with the law and safely."

Initially hesitant due to participating in elections for the first time, Corporal Tran Trong Nghia, a soldier in Squad 9, Platoon 3, Company 9, Battalion 9, Regiment 43, quickly grasped the time, location, regulations, and principles of voting after a short period of instruction and education from his superiors. Corporal Tran Trong Nghia shared: “We belong to Polling Station No. 8, Quang Duc Commune, Quang Ninh Province, and we are participating in elections for two levels: National Assembly representatives and Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council representatives. Over the past period, we have proactively learned about the biographies of the candidates through the publicly posted lists and understood how to fill out and cast our votes correctly. We are eagerly awaiting the day we can cast our ballots and fulfill our responsibility to the future and destiny of our country.”

This year, the 43rd Regiment received new recruits very close to the election date, so propaganda and education work was carried out urgently, focusing on several key and practical contents such as: the rights, duties, and responsibilities of citizens regarding the election; disseminating the list and biographies of candidates; polling places; and how to fill out ballots correctly... Captain Pham Ngoc Son, Political Officer of Battalion 8, 43rd Regiment, said: “We required each company to establish an “Election Advisory Team” headed by the company's political officer, directly responsible for propaganda and education work, and also answering questions from new recruits related to the election. In addition, election propaganda and education work was also intensified through the use of bulletin boards and leaflets, integrated into evening group activities at all levels, combining education with checking the soldiers' understanding.”

Along with intensifying propaganda and education activities on elections within the unit, Regiment 43 coordinated with the Party Committee, government, and Vietnam Fatherland Front of Quang Duc commune to propagate and mobilize the people to properly exercise their rights and civic duties, and participate in the election at the right time and place. Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Huong, Deputy Political Commissar of Regiment 43, said: “Due to the unique characteristics of the mountainous commune, near the border, with a large number of ethnic minorities living there, we sent officers to participate in working groups with the local authorities to go down to the area to propagate and mobilize the people; combining propaganda with combating and refuting distorted information about the election from hostile and reactionary forces. This activity contributes to strengthening the solidarity between the military and the people in the area where we are stationed, maintaining political security, social order and safety, and ensuring that the election takes place successfully and smoothly.”
