The character with the highest EQ in Water Margin.

In the world of Water Margin, amidst the righteous heroes who value honor over wealth, there are characters whose every action and word only adds fuel to the fire. If Song Jiang or Chai Jin are masters of winning people's hearts, then the character with the lowest EQ, who constantly puts himself and his brothers in difficult situations, is Li Kui (nicknamed Black Whirlwind).

Shi Nai'an's Water Margin is not only a hymn to courage but also a raw portrayal of human nature. In it, Li Kui appears as a large child in the body of a fierce, brutish man. Li Kui's low emotional intelligence doesn't stem from a malicious heart, but from a severe lack of situational awareness and impulse control.

The most obvious manifestation of Li Kui's lack of tact was his tendency to blurt out inappropriate remarks and behave rudely at all times and in all places. During banquets or important discussions at Liangshan, Li Kui frequently interrupted the leaders with crude comments, embarrassing others without realizing it.

Even with Song Jiang, whom he revered most, Li Kui often humiliated the leader in front of the army. He didn't understand the concepts of "face" or "rules of etiquette," leading to his kindness sometimes causing more harm than good.

Li Kui's lack of emotional intelligence also lies in his complete inability to empathize and distinguish right from wrong in his anger. When descending the mountain to retrieve his mother, due to carelessness that allowed tigers to eat her, Li Kui flew into a rage and killed the entire tiger family. Although this was an act of revenge for his mother, it also reflected primal instincts, lacking the necessary composure to process grief.

In battles, Li Kui frequently succumbed to killing innocent civilians, simply because he couldn't control his excitement during combat. This "ignorance" made him a dangerous weapon but also a moral burden for the Liangshan rebels.

From a modern perspective, Li Kui represents the type of person who is "blunt to the point of being crude" in society. Many people often mistake this lack of subtlety for honesty, but in reality, the inability to observe others' attitudes and control one's own behavior is a fatal weakness.

In the workplace or in life, a highly skilled professional with low emotional intelligence (EQ), like Li Kui, is easily isolated or becomes a tool in the hands of others. Ultimately, sincerity, without understanding and moderation, becomes nothing more than psychological violence against those around you.
